cost savings, and improved quality.
Education
Bachelor of Science, Industrial Manufacturing Engineering May 2011
Indiana Institute of Technology, Fort Wayne
• Graduated with a 3.80, on Dean’s List, Magna Cum Laude, and as an Alpha Chi National College Honor Society
member
• Related course work: business management, project management, lean, work design, quality, Unigraphics 3-D
modeling, AutoCAD drafting, safety, material science, manufacturing processes, a Total Quality Management (TQM)
project with Fort Wayne Metals, senior project on implementing the lean concepts of 5S, Total Productive Maintenance
(TPM), and kabana in a plumbing company, basic Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programming, basic mill
Programming, basic robot programming, and engineering ethics
• Many of the instructors had me help the people that did not understand what they were doing
Skills & Abilities
Management
• Scheduled employees’ time off from the line and their locations on the line while working
• Got employees to go above what was required, most of the time, by explaining to them why we needed to work harder
to produce more
• Was given the trouble workers because I could work with them and get them to perform, by explaining to them what
was expected and treating them properly
• Trained most of the people that spoke English as a second language because I could get them to understand what was
needed well
Communication
• Ran team meetings for my assembly line
• Had monthly meetings where I presented what the team had done for the last month and discussed what would be
happening for the next month
• Performed presentations for most of the classes I took as part of my degree and for any projects that I was a part of at
work
Leadership
• Trained employees in proper job procedures, safety, proper conduct, and lean tools
• Led by example; worked as hard as anyone on the line, to show what was expected of them as workers in the company
• Led Kaizen projects to improve the production area, 5S projects to create cleaning standards, and TPM projects to
create maintenance standards
• Led senior project on a plumbing company
Engineering
• Worked with Engineering Department on implementing changes to the lines
• Worked on finding the root causes for issues and reporting these to the process engineers
• Helped create value stream maps and collect times to improve performance of the line
• Performed projects to reduce the quantity of vented poly urethane and other scrap issues
• Learned how to use the basic aspects of 6 Sigma to set up and perform projects
• Worked on a Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) project to improve mold change over times by 91%

• Participated: kaizen, quality, mapping, worker procedure, and raw and finished part kanban
• Helped train other team leaders on how to perform their duties and associates on theirs
• Moved to a line that did not hit any of their targeted numbers and within a month had them performing better
than required in all key areas of measurement
