i. Project: Google GAC Performance Tuning Project(Sep'12 to till date)
This is basically an initiative taken by Google to performance tune
all its existing SQL/PLSQL codes and creating new optimized SQL/ PLSQL
codes.
As part of this project, long running Concurrent programs and queries
in Production environment were identified by the Data Base
Administrator team and bugs will be created for the same. These bugs
will be assigned to developers, for analyzing the codes and taking
appropriate corrective action on the codes for improving the
performance.
ii. Project: Google FA - Automation of F-Project CIP Asset
Capitalization (Apr'12 to Aug'12)
This F-Project is mainly focused on automating the manual efforts
involved in capitalizing the CIP Assets and drastically reducing the
time spent by the offshore BPO (Accenture team) in preparing these
Assets for capitalization. Also, the time spent by Business users to
review and validate the prepared Asset records before Posting them in
Fixed Assets module. This automation is achieved by providing users
with OAF pages that will act as a centralized console for the users to
perform the various functionalities on the Asset records in one place
and the ability to process the Asset records in groups, thereby
reducing the processing time to a greater extent. Also, with the help
of the Reconciliation reports, the users will be able to track the CIP
Assets data that are been Posted in the Fixed Assets system.
iii. Project: Google FA Re-Class MAC Journal Entries Automation (Jan'12
to Mar'12)
The intended purpose of the Google FA Re-Class MAC Journal Entries
Automation project is to create offset Journals with the data
available in Oracle Fixed Assets into Oracle General Ledger to cancel
the effect of the wrong journals posted from Oracle Payables to Oracle
General Ledger.
iv. Project: Google GL Legal Accrual Automation (TeamConnect) (Nov'11
to Dec'11)
The purpose of this project is to automate the Accrual Journal
creation process based on the extracted files from TeamConnect system
to eliminate the manual work being performed by the accountants in the
Accounting & Controls group.
v. Project: Google GL gCrew Accrual Automation (Sep'11 to Oct'11).
The intended purpose of the project is to create an automated process
and standardize it globally for the gCrew accrual (temporary employee
timesheet entry tool) Journal creation. This automation was
implemented globally (NORTAM, EMEA, APAC and LATAM regions) based on
the accrual reports from gCrew system. This new gCrew Journal creation
process automation will eliminate the manual work being performed by
the accountants in the Accounting & Controls group.
vi. Project: Google GL ICON- Phase 1.5 Project (Jul'11 to Aug'11).
Google ICON is a custom application built with OAF technology for
Google's internal usage. This tool will handle all the intercompany
transactions within Google and create appropriate journals for the
transactions in respective Entities.
I developed the following reports Audit reports for this project using
Oracle BI publisher tool, to simplify the Task of tracking and
auditing the journals and associated Intercompany transactions created
from the ICON tool.
1. Google GL InterCompany Entity Details Report.
2. Google GL InterCompany Force Approved Batches Report.
3. Google GL InterCompany Balances by Currency Report.
4. Google GL InterCompany Reconciliation Detail Report.
5. Google GL InterCompany Status Exception Report.
6. Google GL InterCompany Expat Mapping Details Report.
vii. Project: Google Consolidated Income Tax Reconciliation Automation
(Mar'10 to Jul'10)
The tax team prepares the consolidated T-schedule on a monthly basis
as a part of the monthly required reconciliations. The current process
is manual and error prone. This Automation solution will automate the
roll forward/ reconciliation of income taxes for Google Inc and its
subsidiaries on a monthly basis. By this Google Inc can realize
$130K/yr in time savings of Finance FTE time upon implementing of this
automated solution.
viii. Project: Google Adjusting and Reclass Metrics Automation(Dec'10 to
Feb'11)
Google Adjusting and Reclass Metrics Automation projects aims at
automating the process of categorizing the Journal Entries entered
both manually and through the Web ADI tool into the specified
Adjustment and Reclass categories. This categorization was done
earlier through manual process which consumed a lot of manual efforts
of the GL users. This automation has made the process simple and
quick.
