RESEARCH ASSISTANT, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), India Ltd. India, May 18th, 2009-Aug
16th, 2011
Determined the Biomarkers that are expressed on kidney transplanted patients’ PBMCs.
Analyzed the in vivo pattern of the rejection or acceptance of transplant in different
recipients with different donor combinations based on HLA typing.
Verified the antibodies to block the biomarkers that are expressed on PBMCs of
transplanted patients such that the immune response would be diminished.
Prepares biological assays and conducts basic quantitative and qualitative analysis.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Utilizing a PEG hydrogels with the Addition of IPS cells to Create a 3D Heart Tissue Construct
Engineered and constructed a 3D polymer scaffold from PEG hydrogels through
nanofabrication.
Inoculated the scaffold with adipose tissue derived iPS cells.
Differentiated and continuously conditioned the 3D tissue by micro perfusion and
vasculature.
Screened for Invitro and in vivo functional and biological performance metrics of the
matured 3D tissue construct.
Extraction of Piperine from Pepper & its related Clinical Trials
Extracted and purified Piperine protein from black pepper through distillation.
Conducted double blinded clinical trials to test for clinical efficiency of Piperine in
improving the bioavailability of nutrients from food.
Next Generation Sequencing
Sequenced 1149 nucleotides long apr [BamP] gene that codes for Alkaline Proteases in
Bacillus subtilis using SMRT (Single Molecule Real time) DNA sequencing based Illumina.
Carried out the cost-effective analyses using SOAPdenovo.
Cardiac Tissue Engineering
The role and applications of Tissue Bioreactors in experiments to artificially grow the
cardiac myocytes and tissue are analyzed.
The non-linear differential equations are solved using MATLAB.
