Position Title: Technical Contracts Analyst

Position information

Department: Finance Department

Sub-Department: Contracts & Procurement

Reports to: Contracts & Procurement Manager

Position Grade: Cadre Staff (Category 10)

Work location: Douala - Cameroun

Position description - Purpose(Key roles and respoosibilities)

To support Addax's upstream activities by sourcing contracted services and materials from both local

and overseas markets using established contracting processes. The Technical Contract Analyst will

ensure that the requirements of the Production Operations, Drilling and Facilities Engineering teams

for contracted services are met in away which optimises the balance between quality of service

delivery and lowest cost. Ultimately, it is about achieving the best value outcome for Addax.

The Technical Contract will interface with internal client departments (Production Operations,

Facilities Engineering, Drilling, IT,and HSSE), internal support departments (Logistics and

Import/Export), and with external parties (vendors and freight forwarders).

Position description - Accountabilities (including KPIs)

Principal deliverables and accountabilities include: .

• Developing an in-depth understanding of client departments' requirements for contracted services in

order to assist them in framing their needs and preparing detailed and accurate scopes of work.

• In coordination with client departments, managing the entire ITT process, including issuance of ITT

documents to potential contractors and management of the assessment and selection processes.

• Negotiating best value outcomes for the business, including application of Addax's standard terms &

conditions.

• Assisting client departments in resolving invoice discrepancies or addressing contractor performance

issues.

• Carrying out contractor performance assessments.

• Carrying out contractor capability assessments with HSSE Department in order, to pre-qualify

contractors for consideration by Addax.

• In coordination with the Operations & Technical department, identifying innovative means to

simplify the ITT and contract management procedures to streamline the contracting process.

• Supporting the roll out of Addax corporate supply chain initiatives, in coordination with the Geneva-

based Supply Chain organisation.

• Assisting the Contracts & Procurement Manager in designing and generating functional reports and

management information.

Position description - Special Challenges

• Requires development of excellent and close working relationships with the Production Operations,

Drilling and Facilities Engineering teams in order to gain knowledge of their operational requirements

and assist them in identifying the optimal contractual solution to meet their requirements.

• Assisting Contract Owners inoverseeing and managing their key contractors in accordance with

industry best practice and Addax's procedures.

• Working in a dynamic and intense environment.

Experience and Qualifications Required(capabilities):

This position requires that the employee have a good knowledge of contracting and contractor

management in the E&P sector.

Familiarity with local and international industry suppliers is also a requirement.

• Bachelors Degree in engineering strongly preferred.

• Experience of E&P operations, preferably in support of Offshore Operations.

• A minimum of 5 years experience in a Contracting or Project Management role.

• Certification in Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) Levels 4 & 5 would be a distinct advantage.

• Strong communication skills.

• Good negotiation skills.

• Impeccable moral and ethical standards.

• Strong interpersonal skills, which are to develop good working relationships with internal and

external counterparties. Ability to engender credibility and trust with clients and co-workers.

• Ability to work independently.

• Oral and written fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French would be advantageous, but is

not required.
