I was a level 2 Technician working on the U.S. Army’s Virtual Trainer/Close Combat

Tactical Trainer program. I installed and maintained the most intricate state of the art

computer driven (M1-A1 and M1-A2) Tank, Hmmwv, and M2/M3 Bradley simulators. I

have working knowledge of FBCB-2, Sincgars radio system, Tow missile launch

capabilities and all around functionality of all military battle components and operations.

I work with Dell dual processors running on Unix base format, Fast Ethernet, fiber optics,

Cat5e, transceivers and The Rockwell Collins computer driven Image Generation system.

I hold a level SECRET security clearance with the Government Homeland security. In

addition to my normal duties, I evaluated the trends, performance and mission

requirements to develop a proposal to design the blueprints and subsystems to build a

communication test analyzer. My recommendations and improvements have the analyzer

currently in use across the U.S. and overseas on military bases. I traveled extensively

providing training sessions for the military personal covering the new analyzer.

As Site Manager, I had to utilize my available resources to meet overall objectives,

develop the projects, deadlines, and goals to keep the site at 100% utilization. I had to

generate daily reports to the Nevada headquarters, calculate monthly utilization reports to

the military liaison and control the quarterly inventory of all the flight simulator

components. Keeping within the guidelines of FAA and DOD regulations I had to insure

our technical publications and bulletins were up to date and cataloged. I was required to

have full working knowledge of rotor and fixed wing aerodynamics and flight

characterizes. My independent decision and judgments made me responsible for every

facet of the training pilots receive and the maintenance to the simulators.

NOV 92 TO MAY 93

FLIGHT SIMULATOR TECHNICIAN Grumman Technical Services Inc. Titusville,

Florida

Independently I troubleshoot, analyze, make repairs and/or replace parts and components

on the UH-1 flight simulator at Fort Knox Kentucky. I would diagnose and apply the

repair to four cockpits on a five degree full motion frame and the simulated air traffic

control communications switching system console. Repairs also included calibration of

complex electronic equipment such as the hydraulic system, avionics, airframe

assemblies, Gateway host computer, interface networks, binary, analog, digital computer

logic and VME computer chassis plus all miscellaneous analog equipment at every level

of simulator maintenance. I hold a certification in the Army’s MIL-STD-2000 soldering

program and I was the test-equipment calibration coordinator. In addition to my normal

duties, I developed and implemented a Crew Resources Monitor (CRM) upgrade to

augment the CRM system in use at that site.
