QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Responsibilities:
• Cleaning, sanitizing, or sterilizing caging or equipment utilizing automated cage wash
machines, autoclaves, bottle fillers, and bedding dump stations.
• Disposal of wastes in compliance with NIH/NIA and federal /state regulations.
• Cleaning and sanitizing cage wash and ancillary areas.
• Minor/preventative maintenance of caging and equipment.
• Movement/delivery of feed /bedding sacks, cages, racks, pants, carts, dollies, and
other.
• Assuring that procedures and practices involving the program of animal care are
appropriate for continued AAALA accreditation of the NIA-IRP facilities.
• Adherence to security procedures and confidentiality requirements.
• Ensuring performance of activities in adherence with established NIA-IRP SOPs.
• Participating in the ongoing employee training program, with special emphasis on
safety and health training, safe work practices, and use of personal protective
equipment.
• Performing job tasks/duties in compliance with NIH/NIA policies, regulations, safety,
and security procedures.
• Performing work in compliance with applicable safety requirements.
• Adherence to equipment sanitation and sterilization schedules.
• Assuring that record, log books, and other project records are appropriately and other
job duties as assigned.
• Machine operation and stoking.
