As the bar manager, my main responsibilities were first making
sure all guests in my immediate area were benefiting from the
service of my staff at the highest level possible. I was in charge
of ordering the restaurants liquor, wine and beer with all other
drink related garnishes and non alcoholic beverages. Within the
bar I had the responsibility of tracking the usage of items and
setting par levels of how much inventory we needed on the
shelf. Related to this I also had track my variances whether the
pour sizes were being properly poured or if every drink being
poured was accounted for and to find a reason if variances were
negative. Writing a schedule for my department was also part of
my responsibilities and to ensure the restaurant had the right
amount of staff at the right amount of volume for the business
coming in the doors.
I took one of the lowest in sales restaurants to the number

one restaurant with LWB contribution in the whole region
for the company.
I managed to turn around a bar I took over for that had a
l
great amount of negative variances and minimized most of
them to a small handful.
Had consistently improving liquor costs month to month.

Every variance that was negative had a plan set in place
l
and corrected the majority of each issue.
Had one of the highest QWL scores amongst managers in
l
my region with the staff members.
As a whole our restaurant was within the top three ranked
l
in our region for complements compared to complaints.

I would start the computers in the office and check all the faxed
blue prints for possible jobs. Any proposals that would come
through the office I would get on our Peachtree software
program and input all materials needed for each job and come
up with the estimated cost for the project. After I got to the
estimated price for each job I would send a proposed estimate
to the inquiring companies.
Had great communication with other staff members to

make sure deadlines were put in place and met.
Learned how to manage projects on a daily basis to ensure

every project had the right amount of priority due to the
length of each job.
