LPN- Charge Nurse
Umpqua Valley Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center
Aug 2011- Dec 2012
I am in charge of a team of up to three CNAs, with 50+ patients on three
halls. I rotated my week between the skilled care, transitional care, and
long term care. I am responsible for all of the nursing care, coordination
of staff, and managing the needs of the facility. On a daily basis I
interact with many types of personalities: doctors, other nurses, family
members and upper management. I have proven myself in stressful situations
and have met all deadlines.
United States Army National Guard
2002-2008
National Defense Service Medal
Army Service Ribbon
Overseas Service Ribbon
Global War on Terrorism Service Medal
I was trained extensively in understanding leadership roles. While serving
a tour in Iraq, I was trained to be a Military Police officer and a prison
guard. Great responsibility is a requirement of all of the jobs I held in
the service. I had to be able to take orders and think for myself. I was
taught the value of hard work and the amazing things that can be done on a
team.

Promotion in first three months
First woman hired to department
I started as a window cleaner and in three months worked my way up to line
supervisor. I was personally responsible for the product that came off my
line. I was in charge of making crates for industrial windows sturdy enough
for shipping cross-country. Very quickly I gained knowledge and comfort
with using power tools and large saws.
