GLOBAL COMMODITY MANAGER – INDIRECT PROCUREMENT
Drove major improvements to costs and efficiency through design and implementation of a global strategy to centralize Indirect Procurement. Conducted negotiations and reached agreements with major suppliers to achieve reductions.
• Delivered over $10M in savings in just 15 months after uncovering over $1B in Indirect spend (vs. previous estimate of $350K) through a detailed initial assessment. Created a cross-functional sourcing team to support an Indirect Road Map and assist on several spending projects.
• Negotiated agreements with Dell and Cisco (that lowered costs by $830K/year and $1M+ a year, respectively. Cisco smartnet agreement included $523K in hard savings and $500K in soft savings.
• Achieved $8M in savings through completion of RFPs for peripherals (approx. $500k) and Temp Labor ($2.5M by consolidating over 20 suppliers with 1 supplier and $5M in cash flow (Net 90 Terms)).

DIRECTOR – STRATEGIC SOURCING (2006 to 2008)
Controlled $1B in annual spend ($800M indirect, $200M direct), leading globally dispersed 9-member team ensuring on-time supply of products and services to 100+ locations across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America at lowest possible cost. Partnered with Corporate Finance and Treasury groups to forecast material needs and pricing, while minimizing price volatility through development of hedging and sourcing strategies.
• Enabled utilization of software contracts throughout the global corporations with the need for all new terms and conditions through development of a matrix organization that managed legacy software maintenance with 3rd-party, offshore, and internal resources.
• Consistently exceeded aggressive team goals prior to departure, on track to deliver above 2008 savings goal of $10M.
DIRECTOR – IT SOURCING AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT (2005 to 2006)
Promoted to senior-level position that included leadership of two major areas controlled total $500M spend for IT/Telecom, professional services, and major construction/real estate projects. Designed (with CIO) and directed IT sourcing team of 4 in implementation of sourcing strategy, while managing daily transactions and purchases.
• Reduced module rates 63% (from $3.3K to $1.2K per user) through renegotiation of the Oracle agreement. Utilized offshore resources to manage Oracle development requirements.
• Negotiated with 3rd party to handle all legacy software maintenance.
• Brought structure to Construction sourcing (a new area) through development of standard procedures for A/E Design, construction management, and projects.
• Successfully managed the construction and move of Brunswick’s Bowling Division and Valley Dynamo production to Reynosa, Mexico. Projects, which included design, construction management, equipment moves, and capital purchases, were valued at more than $50M and completed on time and under budget.
• Lowered professional services expenses by more than $450K by centralizing travel arrangements to a single agency and electronic booking system.
• Provided sourcing support to complement the HR strategy as participant on Brunswick’s HR Council. Consolidated the automated payroll system from 10 to 2 systems, and strategically sourced 401K, healthcare benefit program, and job postings.
IT COMMODITY LEADER (2001 to 2005)
Brought on as member of group developing and centralizing a new Indirect Sourcing team co-created Strategic Sourcing Policies and Procedures, as well as standard agreements (with legal counsel), and developed company’s Strategic Sourcing Intranet. For IT, drove design/implementation of new strategy and completed a company-wide audit on all software, including asset logs for each application and software program.
• Contributed over $6M in savings to the Team’s 2004 cost savings goal of $11.1M.
• Consolidated $120M spend through establishment of centralized IT Procurement organization; integrated Brunswick Europe into enterprise-wide IT sourcing for PCs, software, and peripherals.
• Generated $800K+ savings by consolidating software licenses across the company, while cutting IT supplier base from 3K+ to more manageable 150 (with 85% of spend with just 10 suppliers).
• Expertly managed construction of new $40M plant for U.S. Marine Corps in Reynosa, Mexico. Personally supervised onsite activities for 225K-sq. ft. facility.

• Managed the Meeting Services Supplier Management Team. Responsible for the following areas; Audio Teleconferencing, Video Bridging, Airlines, Travel Agents and Rental Cars.
