I am a highly organized, creative and motivated professional with extensive
experience in finance and business. I am currently employed with Citigroup,
a trusted and well-established market leader in financial services and
securities investment.
In my present role as a portfolio accountant, I service a client that has
over 220 billion dollars of assets under management in my department. The
mutual funds and separately managed accounts I work with expose me to many
different types of assets including equities, fixed income securities, and
futures. I have proven myself to my peers, and I am now in a leadership
role responsible for advising and resolving cash discrepancies related to
variation margin and collateral on futures and other fixed income
securities.
The fixed income, domestic, and international funds that I reconcile and
analyze have introduced me to a multitude of corporate actions. As a result
of my understanding of these actions, I am now in a leadership role to
inquire, research, and resolve corporate action related issues between
middle office and custodians' records. These actions range from simple
dividend events to more complex actions including rights offerings and
tenders.
My position at Woodforest National Bank has also provided me with an
abundance of experience. As branch manager, I was responsible for many
aspects of the branch's performance. I served as trainer to the employees,
giving advice on company and government policy, as well as monitoring team
effectiveness. Many of the decisions I made had a direct impact on risk,
profit, loss, marketing and customer service. For example, I was
responsible for determining the type of account and fee structure for each
customer and providing limitations on how much an account could be
overdrawn. I also reviewed the overdrawn accounts and determined how much
risk the branch could take. Marketing strategy was constantly reviewed to
ensure sales and customer service goals were achieved, and each month I
completed a profitability report to determine the branch's success.
Despite many of the challenge the financial industry was incurring. I was
able to continue increased account acquisition and profit growth.
In conclusion, I feel I would be an asset to your team. I look forward to
meeting with you at your earliest convenience where we can discuss how my
leadership and financial service skills can best serve your organization.
Thank you for your consideration,
Sincerely,
Brian Ballmann
