fixture design including importing DE-STA-CO clamps from supplier web site and
putting in purchase requests for the clamps used in the design. Design 2-way and 4-
way pin and net blocks for fixtures to match customer specs for prescribed net areas
on hydroformed parts. Create manufacturing drawings for brake press operations and
welding. Calculating material requirements and assisting with process engineering as
needed. Create plots for operator set-up. Update information in MRP system (E2).
Blank development coordinated with quality control department, frequent customer
liaison when questions arise about prints and data. Full backup project manager when
project managers are on vacation. Six new customers have been brought to the

• Assist Process Engineering Dept. with water jet and other internal and outside
source cutting process development. Review sub-assembly and final assembly
prints at Cross-Functional Drawing Review meetings and adjust water jet cutting
content based on assembly dimensioning, interference, tolerance stack up and
‘Fit, Form and Function’. Continuing to program for water jet cutting machines
while learning Process Engineering position. Developing improvements for
water jet cutting processes by communicating and working with Production
Control, Materials Dept. and Engineering. Editing work orders by correcting errors and
implementing improved processing procedures aimed at making a quality product on time
at a desirable cost.

Hitachi wire EDM (Fanuc control). Set up and run press brake (Piranha name
brand). Set up and run production operation on 2 Fadal CNC mills. Some
quoting on laser work. Drawing was done in AutoCAD. Laser programming was
done with Metalsoft.
Laser Operator
9/2007 - 3/2008 Prototech Laser, Clinton Twp., MI

dimensional and cut quality on all parts. Responsible for all material handling
and documentation. Responsible for preparing machines for 'lights-out' running
at the end of each shift.
2nd Shift Supervisor
8/2006 - 9/2007 Prototech Laser, Clinton Twp., MI
• Required to oversee the work performed by 3-7 machine operators and general
laborers in the plant. Trouble-shoot machinery when it malfunctions, continuous
improvement in efficiency especially with new production jobs. Coach
employees to be responsible, productive and take pride in what they do. Some
drawing in AutoCAD and programming with Metalsoft as needed.
Laser programmer/operator
2/2004 - 8/2006 Sequoia Tool, Clinton Twp., Michigan
• Responsible for all 3 axis laser work. Most work was the development of blanks
for deep extrusions and innovative 2-piece and 3-piece kirksite die operations.
Drawing with AutoCAD, programming with Metalsoft and running 3-axis Mazak
laser. Reverse engineering blank template designs from press room using laser
diode on a Mazak Space Gear 5-axis laser machine.
Laser programmer/operator
2/2002 - 2/2004 Thermo-Vac, Oxford, MI
• Program and operate 3-axis, 2000 watt Mazak laser machine. Cut steel up to .
625 inch thick and ceramic up to .25 inch thick. Also cut tungsten, kevlar, rubber,
and other materials. Supplied a total of five other departments with parts for
production. Drawing in AutoCAD, programmed with MasterCAM and Metalsoft.
Clean up drawings for laser programming and hand edit G-code from
MasterCAM so that Mazak 3-axis laser would run MasterCAM’s default post-
processor for milling. Kept logs and lists for material on site (raw sheet stock
and drops), drawing files and programs. Performed regular maintenance for the
machine including oil changes, focus lens cleaning, and oil/vacuum pump filter
changes. Was trained to program and operate 2 CNC Mills (drill and c-sink
only). Wrote internal audits for ISO, and performed ISO internal audits.

Metalsoft, CadCAM, and AutoCAD for drawing and Metalsoft for programming.
Cut stainless, mild, and galvanized steels up to 1/4" thick. Cut some misc.
materials such as blue tempered steel, gage steel, plastic, cobalt alloy,
aluminum, and Formica. Calculated piece prices and sent quotes to customers
via e-mail and fax. Ordered material based on sheet nestings using Metalsoft

Performed full part inspection on jobs being set up in floor slide machines to get
the jobs ‘good to run’ for production then doing hourly checks. Communicated
with machine operators to make sure they were performing inspections and
checking the last part of each bin including labeling bin tags with heat numbers
etc. Collected data for SPC inspection spreadsheets.
• Gained significant experience in shipping/receiving while performing duties as
Quality Control Inspector. Included responsibilities; checking in coil stock, using
the Kan Ban system, transferring bin tag info. to shipping books, matching
