systems. As a Foreign Service Security Technical Specialists (STS) and
a member of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security team I provided a safe
environment for the conduct of U.S. diplomacy worldwide. Work
requirements were varied and included managing projects, advising,
supervising and training personnel, supporting dignitary travel, and
exploring the use of new technology. Assisted in worldwide technical
security programs that provided protection for Department of State
facilities and personnel from technical espionage, acts of terrorism,
and crime. Also responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing
a vast array of complex technical security equipment such as alarms,
access control, networked CCTV systems, X-ray machines, explosive
detectors, vehicular and pedestrian access control systems, and metal
detectors. Responsible for safeguarding sensitive information and
physical security including installing and repairing locks, safes,
vaults, security hard line doors, gates and barriers.
Lead and supported the engineering department in developing
procurement and instrument specifications, defining quality
requirements at cost effective levels, and specifying acceptance
criteria.
Technical skills include PLC, AUTOCAD, CATIA, Microsoft NT network
construction. Knowledge of computer applications in spreadsheets,
word processing, and graphics.
Strong communication and innovative problem solving skills. Work well
independently and in team environment.
