Platte Chemical Company is a manufacturer of agricultural chemicals. I am responsible
for all second operations, including formulation, packaging, quality, efficiencies, and safety. The
second shift consisted of 50 hourly employees, 2 foremen, and two group leaders. My main
accomplishment at Platte was implementing a goal oriented environment that had set goals for all
daily tasks, hourly and daily. At the beginning of each shift, each employee or department were
issued their goals for the day. This worked as a report card to all employees and allowed for
tracking productivity and quality in all steps of our operation. Employees liked to see how well
they were doing and promoted some friendly competition.
Production Coordinator/Further Processing Manager
America’s Catch, Inc., Itta Bena, MS. January 2000-February 2009
America’s Catfish is a processor of farm raised catfish. I was responsible for all daily
scheduling and the further processing operations, which included Breading, IQF freezing,
Polybag, Portion cutting, marinade, and hand fillet. I was responsible for the safety productivity,
and quality of these departments. I directly supervised 60 hourly employee and 4 line leaders.
My major accomplishments were the implementation of new and more efficient breading line
which increased the line capacity by 50% with the same labor cost and I set minimum and
maximum inventory levels for all products which more efficiently utilized our freezer space.

MTD – Modern Line Products, Indianola, MS. September 1998-November 1999
Modern Line Products is a manufacturer of lawn care equipment. I was responsible for
the log splitter operation. The log splitter operation encompassed the manufacturing of log
splitter parts and an assembly line to produce the final product. The plant shut down in 1999. I
was not there long enough to make any noted improvements.

I left Delta pride catfish to start my own business of supplying safety products to the
Mississippi delta. It did very well for 2 year. In my last year in business the profits were not
sufficient to keep the business going.
Plant Manager
Delta Pride Catfish, Indianola, MS. March 1991-May 1994
Delta Pride Catfish at the time of my employment was the largest producer of farm raised
catfish in the world. My responsibilities as plant manager was to oversee all plant operations
from live haul to shipping the final product to our customers. This plant employed 800
employees. My major accomplishment was starting a continuous flow processing line which
allowed for the fish to move through the processing operation without stopping from kill to the
freezer.
Production Supervisor
Vlasic Foods, Inc., Greenville, MS. June 1982-February 1991
Vlasic is a pickle manufacturing plant. I was responsible for running a packing line from
start to finished product. I was given the assignment of implementing and running the first spear
line at the Greenville plant. We met our production goals in 5 weeks. The last year of my
employment at Vlasic I was given the task of writing an operations manual for every job on the
production line. It is my understanding that they are still using these same manuals.
