CJK Construction Services ltd 2007 - to date
I provide consultancy and site support services through my limited company
trading as CJK Construction Services Ltd. I have undertaken services for
both public and privately owned companies including Morgan Ashurst, Roger
Bullivant, R.F Maude, Leeds City Council and Jacobs Engineering UK.
Leeds City Council: The assessment of open water courses and
conduits/Culverts and Bridges to determine their hydraulic capacity using
the Culvert Design Guide. Capacity assessments of council owned wastewater
pumping stations.
My contract with Jacobs started in 2008 and I have been with Jacobs for the
last 4 years at Principal Engineer/Technical Lead. I provide specialist
services under contract with regard to Water Engineering (Wastewater),
Drainage (Infrastructure and non infrastructure), Flood Engineering and
Land Drainage.
The role included the following;
. Infrastructure and non infrastructure design for both foul and surface
water drainage systems in schools, council owned farms and NYCC
highways depots.
. Land drainage design for various school playing fields and surface
water runoff from power station spoil heaps.
. Drainage design for commercial, industrial, domestic and agricultural
drainage systems.
. Flood and drainage issue investigations to complete the scoping
reports, outline design, detailed design, initial cost estimate,
tender packages, site supervision and close out of the scheme
. Technical lead on drainage restoration schemes, flood schemes
involving dams and working closely with QCE Reservoir Panel Engineers
and open watercourse restoration for ditches, streams and river
channels.
As part of Jacobs I was seconded in to the Anglian Water Alliance
supervising multi-disciplinary teams and providing technical experience and
design experience to the less experienced members of the team to ensure
cost effective, robust efficient designed schemes for wastewater treatment.
MOTT mACDONALD 2006 - 2007 (may)
I was last employed by Mott MacDonald working within the joint Venture of
MMB. The joint venture is Mott MacDonald who formed a company with
J.N.Bentley a contractor in Yorkshire, currently under Contract with
Yorkshire Water Services to provide engineering expertise.

some instances providing the site supervision.

I was Principal Engineer in the Building Drainage Section of the Leeds
office. I have responsibility for the supervision of the building drainage
design team, financial control of budgets, Quality Assurance and the
checking of all work before issue.

KBR International Inc. 2005 - 2005
Client: Tengizchevroil (Chevron Texaco) Value: $25m
Lead Civil Engineer for infrastructure projects associated with a major
Oilfield located in Kazakhstan. My role includes conceptual designs and
managing the projects through to the Client supervised construction. At
this stage my role then alters to provide Field Technical Support to
clarify and/or amend the accepted design.
The Project Management role includes the cost monitoring in house,
production of all Material Requests including Quality checks on materials
supplied, production of the Scope of the Works etc, preliminary data
collecting, supervision of interdisciplinary designs and third party design
all in accordance with the relevant SNiP codes.
My responsibilities also included the management on behalf of KBR for
obtaining the Construction License from the Kazakh Government.
Kellogg Brown & Root 2001- 2005
Senior Engineer - K3 Framework Value: 300k (Design Fees)
Lead in a Design Team producing solutions for upgrading CSO structures in
line with current EEC Regulations. My responsibilities included the design
development including the ASB submission for gaining finance for the
schemes, procurement of materials and coordination of disciplines, the
phase 1 program and cost monitoring in house

Seconded to the Environment Agency from the Jacobs Babtie/KBR JV to provide
on site supervision of the construction of an Earth Dam and associated
Flood Defense walls in West Auckland.
I also had the responsibility for agreeing the reinstatement schedules with
both householders and Land Agents
Employers Representative (YWS Framework)
Micklefield WwTW (in conjunction with the Highways Agency) Value; 5.5m
Site based Representative overseeing the construction of a new WwTW and the
subsequent demolition of the existing asset. I was responsible for all
construction supervision and design issues between the Client and the
Contractor, quality of workmanship, assessing the monthly valuations,
production of the H&S file and any Third Party Issues.
Driffield WwTW Value; 6m
ECC Site Supervisor for the construction of a 6 Cell BAFF plant, Lamella
Plant and Chemical Dosing system. I was responsible for all supervision
including Civil, Structural, Mechanical and the coordination of the
electrical supervision, the monthly valuations and any Third Party issues.
Solutions Engineer
Feasibility Study - Old Earswick
I was commissioned by YWS to undertake a feasibility study in to a flooding
problem at Old Earswick, near York. My brief was to identify, investigate
and produce a report that included solutions, proposals and indicative
'costing'. The work was carried out using an existing hydraulic model based
on Hydroworks.
Feasibility Study - Esholt WwTW
As part of a proposed program of works for Esholt WwTW, I was charged with
looking at why the measurement flume became non-compliant under high
effluent flow and the extent of the contamination contained within the
residual sludge, which remains in main PST channel. Both of these studies
required extensive investigation to produce the required reports.
M.J.Gleeson Group 1998 - 2001
Sub-Agent Client: United Utilities Value: 6m
I had the role Sub-Agent for the upgrade of the WwTW at Meols (Wirral), in
line with the new regulations on sea outfalls. The plant consisted of
providing and ASP plant. My responsibilities included the coordination and
supervision of the Sub-Contractors, the engineering program, procurement of
materials, initial assessment of Sub-Contract Claims and acting as the
Design Liaison engineer between the Client and our Designer.
Senior Engineer Client: YWS Value: 5m
I was the Senior Engineer supervising the engineering for a total of 26
sites over a 12 month period. I was also involved with the confirmation of
the Clients brief and the development of alternative design proposals by
assisting our Third Party designers. I also had full autonomy on the larger
sites in excess of 250k reporting directly to the Project Manager
Section Engineer Client: United Utilities Value: 6m
This role was undertaken while we were upgrading the WwTW at Fazakerley
(Liverpool) to provide a new 9 cell BAFF plant. I was responsible for the
Client design checks, procurement of materials, organising the Engineering
work and the basic day to ay running including programming of the site. The
role also meant I was given responsibility for the coordination of the sub-
contractors and the monthly assessment of work completed.
Johnston Construction 1996 - 1998
During my employment I had varied roles ranging from Engineer through to
Section Engineer and these were executed on a number of Contracts that were
predominately involved in the Tunneling, Pipe Jacking sectors in addition
to ancillary sectors such as Pipe Laying and Reinforced Concrete
Structures.
Further experience
I have attained considerable experience in the use of computer based
programs such Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, various hydraulic programs, a
number planning packages and a working knowledge of hydroworks.
I am from an Agricultural background, having attained nationally recognized
certificates from Askham Bryan Agricultural College. This experience has
been used to great effect on a number of schemes that have had a
significant agricultural impact for schemes that have been undertaken by
Environmental Agency, NVZ assessments for NYCC, drainage and farm runoff
treatment and watercourse management.
