November 2012-Present: Lab Processor at Norton's CPA Lab
I am responsible for documenting what specimens are sent from the hospitals, doctor's offices and some other off site locations. I also receive the specimens through the computer system and label them with the new labels that have the given tests on them to be completed. Also work is done with pap smears, vaginosis panels, and some cultures.
May 2012-Present: Lab Assistant at the University of Louisville's Nephrology Department- I work in Dr. Uriarte's lab, who is in the department of Microbiology and Immunology. The current project undertaken involves neutrophils and the effects caused on these cells by two oral pathogens. We are collaborating with both the Dental School and other faculty within the Microbiology and Immunology Department. Techniques include work with spectrophotometry, flow cytometry, tissue staining, Luminex analysis of cytokines in particular supernatants as well as other cellular and molecular techniques.
June 2010-Present: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) at Kroger Pharmacy- I perform routine tasks in assisting the Pharmacist and these tasks include: receiving prescriptions from patients, entering them into the system, filling the prescription, and dispensing the medications to the patients after they have been checked thoroughly by the Pharmacist. I am responsible for keeping track of a particular section of our store’s inventory and do weekly counts to make sure our on-hand matches what the system says we have. Also, I am responsible for helping patients by selling them their medications as well as showing them the location of over-the-counter medications that they may have difficulty finding along with answering questions that I am able to answer. Also, I deal with insurance claims and problems and often have to seek ways to solve the problems either by contacting the insurance company or patient.

August 2011-December 2011 Supplemental Instruction Leader for Chemistry 341 (Organic Chemistry I), I hold large group tutoring sessions for students enrolled in Chemistry 341 three times a week. I discuss material covered in lecture and do a large amount of practice problems to help the students gain a better understanding of the material. I also attend the class section to stay up to date on the material that was covered and what will be tested. I lead the sessions by discussing the material and follow up with problems from the both the text and ones that I create to help solidify the major concepts.
August 2011-December 2011 Living and Learning Community Chemistry 201 (General Chemistry I), I tutor Honors students who are enrolled in a Living and Learning Community every other Thursday and hold Exam reviews as needed throughout the semester. I work primarily with a small group of students and work out practice problems and discuss concepts with which they may have difficulties.
August 2010-April 2011 U of L REACH Ambassador Program- as an Ambassador, I sent out weekly emails to a group of 50 students to highlight important activities going on around campus. I served as a leader whom the students could turn to whenever a crisis prevented itself to them. Also, as a part of this program, we were to devise two service learning projects that would help spread relevant news about a pertinent topic in our world today that may have been somewhat unfamiliar to students at the University. Also, I served as a mentor and was available to my mentees at various times throughout the week or through email and social networking sites.
January 4, 2010-December 2011- Disabilities Resource Center- Notetaker- I take notes for students that are unable to do so themselves. I thoroughly follow the lecture and contain all necessary details in the notes.
August 2009-May 2010 TCP Mentor at Western Middle School- I take a small group of eighth graders and talk to them about college as well as other pertinent issues that may pertain to their lives.
August 2009-May 2010 Freshman LEAD Program at the University of Louisville I am involved in various activities on campus demonstrating my leadership learning about the ins and outs of campus and how to stay focused on becoming a leader in this community.

June 2006-August 2010 McDonald's Restaurant – Duties included maintaining low drive thru times as well as front counter times. Depending on the day, I would be in charge of the back line and keeping a fast pace with making the food and other days I would take lead in drive thru with fulfilling the orders.
June 2008-July 2008- Governor's Scholar Program-Bellarmine Campus- My focus area was Healthcare Industry in which my area learned about different aspects of healthcare, such as billing, hospital work, disabilities, and so forth.
June 2008-July 2008 Mattingly Center Volunteer-Duties included aiding the mentally and physically disabled patients in various activities. Some activities I aided in included Bible Study as well as cooking. On occasion, I individually assisted one patient and tried to get the patient involved with various events occurring at the Mattingly Center.
June 2008-July 2009 Bellarmine Campus GSP General Studies Environment Awareness- During this five week program, the general studies I belonged to conducted a series of environment awareness campaigns. The first step was to reach out to the Bellarmine community and set up a recycling program in the dorms. Leading this program included collecting all the recyclables, putting up flyers, and creating various short films and a documentary on helping with the environment. The second step was to go around in the suburbs around the campus and inform the community of various recycling programs available in the area. This included breaking into groups and navigating around the outlying neighborhoods.
August 2007-May 2008 Wellington Elementary-Paid Third and Fourth Grade Tutor-Duties included assisting designated children with their homework assignments and helped them to stay focused on the work. I provided advice where needed and tried to maintain a friendship with the children. Tutoring sessions were once a week on Thursdays.
June 2005-August 2006 The Louisville Science Center-Volunteer- Duties included assisting in the IMAX theater, the gift shop, as well as other locations in the museum. Other duties included setting up experiments for the visitors as well as assisting and guiding visitors around the museum. Clean up was also done before each shift was finished.
