EXPERIENCE:
Work in a high pressure environment drawing from telecommunication and
electronic skills and experience to; install, repair and maintain various
types of communications and alarm equipment and /or systems
ELECTRONICS: All phases of installation and repairs of various alarm
platforms, from simple residential burglar alarms to the more complex
commercial combination burglar/fire alarm systems, as well as dedicated
fire systems. Troubleshoot and install Access control systems, such as
Bosch, Locktronics and DMP. Installation of CCTV camera systems from
single camera/VCR configurations to more technical multi-camera PTZ/DVR
systems. Program panels, using a laptop, programmer or keypad.
Configure most DVR's using the internet.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS: All phases of installation and repairs using knowledge
of color-coded wiring, with the ability to hear test tones for conductor
identification and fault location. Installs, rearranges, repairs and
removes communication facilities, which includes inside wiring.
Installation testing identification, repair and connection for cable
facilities, and service drops. Respond to trouble calls at customer
premises, tests inside/outside wire for trouble. Daily use of laptop to
receive scheduled jobs and report completed jobs.
DATA COMMUNICATIONS: Install inside wire from SNI/NID to the location of
the customer's computer. Installation may include modems, modem/cards,
splitters, splitter housing, Rjxx plugs and cords, Internet Explorer or
Netscape browser for access, TCP/IP stack software, Ethernet NIC card or
House of IP. Install and configure IP addresses and subnet mask and
wireless LAN, configure appropriately and test to confirm operability.
Program software for network connections. Respond to trouble calls at
customer premises; test inside wire and computer connections for trouble.
CABLE TELEVISION: Reconnect outside drop wire to tap both aerial and
buried, replacing if necessary. Insulating and placing terminators as
needed. Replace splitters at house box and running new cable for
additional outlets, in attics or under houses. Replaced existing cable
and fittings as needed to bring up to current code. Installing and
troubleshooting converter boxes. Programming remotes and customer
education.
ELECTRICAL: All aspects, including knowledge of NEC codes and ability to
read blueprints. Troubleshooting and circuit tracing, circuit load
calculating, bending and running conduit, pulling wires, main panel
replacement, installation of new switch gear, new lighting and
retrofits, rough electrical, N. M. cable, communications wiring and
devices, fire and life safety devices. Main panel rebuilds, service
drops (new installation and repair), electrical outlets and switches.
