RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
In- vitro Pharmacologist at Cardio- vascular, metabolic, endocrine disease unit, Pfizer Inc. Nov 2012- present
• Maintain and characterize various mammalian cell lines like THP1, HEK293, JURKAT, CHO and others.
• Perform site directed mutagenesis and prepare plasmid to transfect cell lines.
• Process mice tissues ex vivo to prepare them for further experiments.
• Purify and quantify RNA from tissue lysate. Perform RT-PCR for the purified RNA and analyze the Taqman results.
• Perform various cell based assays for different cellular components on the tissue lysate.
• Perform Western Blots and ELISA for the proteins of interest and analyze the results.
• Purify and quantify DNA from microbial cultures transfected with gene of interest.

Graduate research assistant
“Optimizing multicellular co-culture spheroid model to closely resemble in-vivo cancer cell environment”
• Optimized ratios of human fibroblast and human lung cancer cell line to prepare spheroids.
• Checked cytotoxicity of various free and micellar drugs on these co-culture spheroids and on same ratio of monolayers.
• Compared drug cytotoxicity between co-culture and single cell line spheroids.
• Performed western blot to prove the presence of two cell lines in spheroids.
• Prepared immunolabelled slides of spheroid sections.
“Preclinical cytotoxicity studies of drug loaded lipid nanoparticles on cancer treatment”
• Prepared drug micelle and calculated the drug encapsulation efficiency.
• Analyzed micelles for size and zeta potential using zetasizer.
• Split and maintained various mammalian cancer cell lines.
• Extracted mice brain to study blood brain barrier penetration of drug formulation using HPLC.
• Prepared sample for FACS and reviewed them using flow cytometer for cell cycle study.
• Prepared conjugate for micelle formation and purified it by size exclusion column chromatography.
• Fractionated antibody and analyzed the sample after column chromatography using nanodrop or performed BCA assay.
Academic Project:
Punjabi University, Patiala (India)
“Study effect of various CNS drugs on mice” Jan-April 2009
• Gave intraperitoneal injection of drugs to mice.
• Observed activity of mice on various instruments like Rota rod, swimming technique, plus maze.
