Aircraft Maintenance Technician (Crew Chief) 07/2007--Present

NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Force--Geilenkirchen AB, Germany

Responsible for maintenance, repair and servicing performed on 17 assigned NATO E-3A's valued at 5.2

billion dollars. Conduct basic post/preflight inspections, launch/recovery, towing, parking, rinse/washing

and de-/anti-icing of aircraft in a team environment comprised of 16 different nations. Prioritize

work/task schedules received through chain of Command, to obtain anywhere from 95% to 100% mission

capability and accomplishment rate. Debrief flight crew in-order to gain a better understanding of

complex problems, devise strategies to safely and efficiently repair inbound discrepancies on systems and

avionics. Prepare and participate in phase/periodic inspections; repair, maintain and service aircraft in

accordance with Technical Orders. Fuel and de-fuel aircraft, maintain required fluid levels and service

aircraft with LOX and gases. Perform functional checks and troubleshooting of aircraft systems and

structures with aid of technical drawings schematics and system diagrams. Experienced in ordering,

receiving handling and storing of aircraft parts/tools. Extensively trained on safety and hazardous

materials, with authorization to train subordinates. Provide and operate ground equipment to support the

E-3A aircraft mission at home station and forward operating locations/deployments. Deployed 3 times in

support of Operation Afghanistan Assist. Marked NATO’s E-3A Component 500th Combat Mission in

Aerospace Maintenance Craftsman/SSgt 04/1997--05/2005

aircraft launch, recovery and ground handling duties to include towing and parking. Prepared aircraft for

deployments and depot level maintenance. Performed apron/flight line snow/ice removal as well as

aircraft de-/anti-icing activities. Serviced liquid and gaseous consumables, including fuel, hydraulic fluid,

oil, liquid oxygen (LOX), potable water and waste water. Troubleshot unscheduled maintenance on

aircraft systems, assisted specialist when required. Supported and/or assist in special aircraft maintenance

related projects. Assisted in recovery of disabled/crashed aircraft. Maintained and ensured aircraft forms

Removed and replaced all flight controlled and landing gear components. Jacked aircraft for system

operational checks, troubleshooting and maintenance. Rigged, adjusted and manufactured throttle control

and flight control cables. Performed rigging/adjustments to both flight controlled and landing gear
