JUSTIN FLEMING
Los Angeles, Ca. 90059
During the month of October of 2009 until June of 2012, I worked at Austin Task, Inc. Here is
a company I was sure that I could develop with. I multi- tasked as a shredder, as a person who
separates colored and non- colored documents, in addition to all custodial duties to keep all areas
presentable for customer approval. What I enjoyed most with this company was the environment
and business it promoted. Here we had many meetings and discussions about company
development and growth. Before ending my employment, I received two employee of the month
accommodations. Aspiring to grow with the company was cut short, due to family complications,
thus I moved to California.
From the months of July of 2009 through September of 2009, I worked for the GoodWill of
Decatur, Georgia. Here, I worked merchandising as well as selling clothes. Maintaining areas free
of debris was the most challenging! Servicing consumers from all walks of life, was a daily
achieved objective. So I had to adapt a vision of what taste the consumer may posses to
efficiently provide adequate service, furthermore being sure to support other co-workers with
cleanliness of areas.
During the months between March of 2008 through August of 2009, I found employment
with a company called Flawless Transportation, within the city of Atlanta. The position in which I
held was the night security. My tasks were to be accountable for all imported/ exported material(s)
on premises, along with the drivers information.
I have worked and studied at SamVerly Barber College, on PeachTree street in Atlanta,
Ga. Training and developing skills to become a more humble servant of the public. I began this
course of work in the month of November 2007 and graduated in December 2008. It is there that
I learned to perfect my level of service and professionalism
I have worked at Lynn’s Barbershop, in College Park, Ga. I remained here between the
months of March and November of 2007. Being a diligent worker who was continually on time,
prepared as well as ready to work! At this location of employment, I also assisted with cleaning
as well as arranging apparel for customers to view. Being a servant to the public, donating time
to low income families who can’t afford to get haircuts due to circumstances.
I worked with McDonalds Restaurant at the Jimmy Carter location, in Tucker. I
was scheduled to work on the weekends only from 8:00am- 4pm, under supervisor Mr.
Michael. At this location I am responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized environment
while cashiering, continually servicing incoming customers with a smile. Often, managers from
McDonalds may call me, inquiring of another shift in which a fellow employee may not be
available to make. Later, depending on the amount of customers requiring service, I hold
steadfast with a ready to work attitude. Also, I may be called upon to cook daily hash browns and
fries additionally operating cashiering and completing orders. This is mainly why I am able to
multi- task. My complete employment with McDonalds began in December of 2007. The
opportunity to work at this establishment, I’m greatly appreciative of. I feel this experience
helps me grow closer to the demanding career I will later pursue. Furthermore, my passion for
providing superior customer service, I believe, will motivate my persistence in becoming a
professional in all areas and it ended In December of 2006, began in September 2006..
Boston Market, is where I have worked from August of 2007 through December of
the same year. This is where my perfection of servicing customers began. Under the supervision
of Ms. Claudette Dhaiti, I have gained a better understanding of what proficient service honestly
is. This business was not far from address at the time, so it was quite comfortable to travel. Daily
goals were accomplished and standards in which were set also were met in a timely manner. I
was a part of cooking and food preparations which required fast servicing for a vast
majority of customer demands. My work schedule was Mondays through Fridays from
8:00am- 2:00pm, and it is because of this reason why I have become a fast and excellent
worker in all things that I do.
Flawless Transportation is where I have worked through the months of February
through August of 2007. This company was on Covington Highway in the city of Atlanta,
Georgia. I was nightly security guard for the company. My duties were to remain on the
premises from 8:00p, keeping a schedule of the license numbers of drivers’, times, vehicles,
imports and exports, through 8:00a. Including, what materials in possession simultaneously
were to be transported. At this time, I have learned to submit to greater authority, other
than my own and how to compromise in order to achieve an advancing set standard. The
staff here has assisted myself in gaining sight in principals of service and commitment
to a clause. The manger/ owner of this company is well- pleased with services rendered,
to him and the greater Atlanta community. Later, I decided that it was imperative that I
get myself back into school.
Sam Verly Barber College of Atlanta, Ga., is the school that I found interest in.
There, I was able to interact with the general public and further my growth of becoming
an entrepreneur. I believe, this is where the idea of my ethics, in reference to business,
and professionalism honestly spawned. It also was were I’ve grown into maturity and
recognizing that I am a unique individual. Mostly all of my fellow classmates, at the
time, only needed to hear things once and would later be able to recall all of the
information when asked to. Due to my tramatic brain injury, it was not so easy. The course/
curriculum was only a total of 9 months, for the average student. But for myself, it took
approximately one- year three months to retain the required information. I have found that
gaining an understanding of a set- material, it’s causes, along with it’s functions, certainly
will increase in furthering my education of a matter. This experience has taught me how
to humble myself, greater in depth, in order to successfully be a public servant. I am now
equipped with the necessary skills which are in high demand for the individuals prepared
to work with the general public. I began this endeavor in the month of September of
2006 and fully completed the course of study in August of 2007.
“Houses ‘R’ Us” is another company that helped me understand the look of what
is now the housing development of today. I have found that I have persisted in
progressively being active in the struggle of bettering the economy, one, small portion at
a time. With this experience, I have helped vast races in accommodating proper settings
for families, early on. Attracting those individuals whom have a greater definition of
appropriation pertaining to ideas for future events. The equivocal surveying areas was not
available to provide for a certain population of people to justly follow the same
standards of ethical behaviors and/ or lifestyles. Thus, the resulting company was created.
Though, an idea of my fathers, I carried through unto completion of the project. This idea
has created more jobs for those who are qualified for working and are acquainted with
being carpenters. Opening multiple windows of opportunity for a growing population of
people.
Earlier on, fellow constituents, business partners, entrepreneurs, and investors saw an
opportunity to begin an investment in the housing market. With this in consideration, we
built a housing for recovering drug addicts and victims of substance abuse, in order to
assist in helping communities who struggle because of this. We later named it “Making A
Way”, for it provided a better and a brighter way for every recovering drug addict, who
lived and found themselves surrounded by the same uncomfortable areas. At this location
of College Park, we found individuals who were living on the streets and in broken-
homes and provided somewhere they could feel comfortable being in the duration of their
recovery process. Holding meetings and fund- raisers, primly directed toward leading better
lives and aspirations of those in the program and of those who were not. Furthermore,
gaining a better knowledge of what it would require to accomplish a goal of standard to
set for the younger generations to come and/ or their own families.
