SUPERINTENDENT:
As the Field Superintendent I am in charge of the daily operation of the field crews which included
installations, service/inspections, and deficiencies. I preset weekly field crew schedules. I handle
weekly time sheets and maintain the fleet vehicle maintenance. I also act as the purchasing agent
in ordering all loose material, stock material, equipment/tools, and rental equipment. I maintain
the safety equipment and perform weekly tool box talks with all field personnel. Maintained a solid
percentage of profit on projects with both material costs and labor costs. I kept all material issues
to a minimal while excelling at installation practices with my field crews.
2009-2011: Sunland Fire Protection – Wilmington, NC
DISTRICT MANAGER:
As the District Manager I was in charge of the districts day to day operations in accordance with
company policies and procedures as set forth by corporate management.
Implemented a hands on approach in sales/estimating. The Design Manager was integral in
putting together design hours estimated for each project. This resulted in reaching the budgeted
estimating goal of 85% for successful design hours on projects which increased from 25% from
previous management.
Maintained 18.5% profit margin on contract projects and 45% profit margin on service projects.
2007-2009: Simplex Grinnell – Anchorage, AK, Cleveland, OH
PROJECT MANGER, SALES/ESTIMATING:
Began Employment at Simplex Grinnell in Anchorage, AK training a newly hired project manager
within the guidelines set forth by Simplex Grinnell. Transferred to the Cleveland, OH branch. I
began sales/estimating as well as project management. Using Simplex Grinnell's SET tool for
estimating I was able to be successful being awarded numerous projects mainly educational
buildings through the prime bid process.
I would project manage all of my projects through design coordination, progress meetings,
preparing as built drawings, O&M manuals and closeout documents. Obtain bid bonds when
required. Overall 2.25 million in projects while at Simplex Grinnell. Ravenna High School
$326,000, Cleveland East Elementary School $212,000 were the largest bids while I had
numerous school projects at $75-100K.
2005-2007: Fire Protection Inc. – Mantua, OH
DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT:
As Director of Development I expanded the existing installation division from 1 million in annual
sales to 2.5 million in annual sales which includes a full service and inspection division which
coincides with the installation division. I also was developing a FBO (Furnish By Owner) Program
that would include a single one on one relationship with the property/building owner to design and
install a complete design build Fire Sprinkler System which would implement all governing NFPA
and local code requirements that maximize the fire & life safety not only for the property/building
owner but the employees as well.
2003-2005 Fire Materials Group – Tempe, AZ
CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR:
As Construction Supervisor my responsibilities included setting subcontractor/general contractor
expectations with regards to the highly aggressive schedule demands and performance standards
set forth by The Home Depot. FMG would perform the full installation through purchasing the
fabrication and loose material to selecting a subcontractor for the installation. I was in charge of
the Northeast Territory of the United States. I maintained a complete fire protection install
schedule with my subcontractor and general contractor. Performed supervisory responsibilities
with all material and labor aspects as well as all code requirements by the AHJ's which varied
from cities and states. FMG had a national account with The Home Depot for fire sprinkler
installations. Maintained a profit margin of 16.5% using subcontractors.
1997-2003 Tri-Star Fire Protection, Professional Sprinkler, Crooks Fire Protection
JOURNEYMAN FOREMAN:
Detroit Local 704. As a Journeyman Foreman I installed new fire sprinkler systems, retrofitted
existing sprinkler systems, performed inspections and was on call for emergency service calls. I
gained valuable experience working at various auto plants which include Wixom Ford Plant,
Milford GM Proving Grounds, Pontiac GM Truck Plant, Wayne Ford Plant, Ypsilanti Ford Plant,
and hospitals which include Providence Hospital, Detroit Children’s Hospital and Detroit Metro
Hospital.
1985-1997 American Piping, Fire Wolf Inc.
APPRENTICESHIP/JOURNEYMAN FOREMAN/FIELD SUPERINTENDENT:
Local Union 669. Served my apprenticeship from 1985-1990 and became a Journeyman Sprinkler
Fitter/Foreman with Local Union 669. In 1991 I became a Field Superintendent for Fire Wolf Inc.
Fire Wolf Inc. was an inspection company and when I was hired we added an installation/service
department. In 1995 Fire Wolf Inc. grew to include installation work for The Home Depot, Sears,
and Wal Mart.
EDUCATION:
1982-1985 Perry High School – Diploma
1985-1990 JATC Local Union 669 - The Apprenticeship Program is a five-year program with on
the job training and a 19 Course correspondence through Penn St. University.
