and floor RN overseeing 10 CNA's while we cared for 48 residents. I scheduled
appointments, made appropriate referals, drew labs, monitored PT/INR notifying
coumadin clinic and made changes as needed, dispensed medications and did wound
care. Worked closely with families and residents addressing their concerns. 11/2008-
04/2011 Ketchikan General Hospital-RN MS/LTC-Ketchikan, AK. Worked both MS and LTC
acute unit of hospital. Monitor status of patients notifying appropriate personnel of
changes. Drew labs, started IV's, worked with IV pumps, PCA's, PICC and central lines,
peg tubes, NGT's, tube feeding pumps, TPN and PPN, nebulizers, C-PAP, Bi-PAP, vent
machines, colostomies, nephrostomies, supra-pubics, ileostomies, foleys. I have
inserted foleys, NGT's, suprapubics, peg tubes. Worked with wound care products and
wound vacs. I have held another persons hand talking with them as they pass from this
world.
05/2006 -11/2008 MTW Health Resources-Home Health-Lihue, HI. Primarily cared for
two clients in their home. One being a medically fragile unresponsive 6 year old boy
with multiple diagnosis. Mic-Key tube, trache-tube. Patient required constant monitoring
as vital signs were unpredictable. Extensive use of oxygen and chest PT vest. Multiple
suction required along with constant repositioning. The other being a male paralyzed
unresponsive MVA victim. Total care of ADL's. Foley and peg tube care. Constant
repositioning done. Oversaw 1 LPN, 4 CNA's. Drew labs. Scheduled appointments and
made changes to care plan as needed.
04/2006-11/2008 Nursefinders of Kauai-Home Health/Staffing-Lihue, HI. Travelled house
to house assessing anything from the safety of a shower door to the wound care of
post-op amputations to the installation of home monitoring equipment. Worked en route
and in school caring for medically fragile and disabled children. Children were oxygen
dependent and monitored for aspiration, seizures, safety and sudden changes. Constant
O2 monitoring and frequent suctioning sometimes on a moving school bus. Made follow-
up visits. Answered any questions or concerns. Filled medication boxes. Also staffed
area hospitals when needed following their policies and procedures.
01/2005-11/2006 Core Medical Group-Travel RN- Windham, NH. Worked three contracts.
1-Ketchikan General Hospital. Worked both MS and LTC unit of hospital from 02/200-
07/2005. 2-Garden Island Healthcare. Worked LTC unit of hospital of up to 100 SNF and
ICF patients from 07/2005-08/2006. 3-Maluhia Hospital. Worked as RN in a 158 bed
SNF/ICF facility from09/2006-11/2006.
10/2003-12/2004 Saint Vincents Medical Center-RN- Staten Island, NY. Worked as RN on
respiratory / medical unit of hospital caring for up to 14 acute care patients. Started
IV's, did dressing changes, maintained vent settings and followed individualized plan of
care. Notified MD of changes in patient condition.
