ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Isolation, Purification and Determination of protein content and enzyme activity of wheat germ acid phosphatase

UML Sep ’11-Dec ’11

Isolation and purification of the enzyme wheat germ acid phosphatase (WGAP) from wheat germ lysate and then

studying the kinetics of the enzyme using a time dependent assay.

Performed Gel electrophoresis and alkaline phosphatase assay to determine identity and activity at each

purification step.

The protein content was measured in the course of purification process using Bradford Assay.

Differentiation of Myoblasts on AML cell line with ATRA and DMSO and their morphological analysis UML Jan

’12 - May ’12

Determined the effect of different exposure time and concentration of all trans -retinoic acid (ATRA) on AML cell

line where treatment showed differentiation of the AML cells to mature neutrophils.

Compared their growth and morphological changes by cytospins and Wright and Giemsa staining.
