Camp Oasis is primarily for a group of kids who are or have previously experienced suffering in the family due to cancer. This program is designed to get their minds away from all the emotion and stress they may be dealing with at home and to prove to them that they are not alone. At this program I was assigned to a group of about 6 children in grades 5-7 and my job was to accompany them in some group activites. This is the second year that I have participated and I plan to continue participating.

National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine
My high school counselor recommended me for a ten day program that I attended in the summer of 2010. At this program I was residing at Villanova University. Here we were assigned small groups where we did pre-med activities and learned about the different opportunities in medicine. We also were taken on a few college visits, including med-schools, and I also had hands on experiences with things such as first-aid, stitching, and even cadavers.
