Sr. Applications Engineer - North and South America

* Serving as Technical Liaison for Sapa Heat Transfer-Sweden and Sapa Heat Transfer-China to the

Aluminum Heat Exchanger customer base in the Americas as well as their global organizations,

mostly Asian based.

* Create aluminum alloy solutions from Swedish and Chinese facilities to meet specific customer

specifications or propose alternatives based on Sapa capabilities.

* Create or modify material process flow in conjunction with plant engineers to manipulate properties

and fine tune Sapa solutions.

* Represent Americas at biannual technical forum in Japan for 5 largest Japanese based customers,

detailing current product developments and future development trends.

* Coordinate marketing efforts at industry trade shows in Americas.

* Charged with introducing Sapa Aluminum products to growing South American market with

assistance of 3rd party sales representatives.

* Lead product launches of new alloy solutions to Americas customer base.

* Serve as local Quality contact for customer dissatisfactions and worked with Swedish and Chinese

production and R & D team members to investigate and solve quality issues.

* Served as Technical Liaison between world’s largest steel supplier, ArcelorMittal, and Honda North

America, Toyota North America and Nissan Mexico, both directly and through trading companies.

* Developed and fine tuned new and existing exciting products in conjunction with the customer, sales

and research for current and future Honda, Nissan and Toyota models.

* Investigated, solved and presented corrective actions for customer dissatisfactions.

* Troubleshot customers’ processes to aid in solving poor performance.

* Tracked and presented product performance at customer’s facilities.

* Consulted for automotive blanker on Containment with DaimlerChrysler to reduce exposed blank

reject rate and have Containment lifted. Reduced rejects at DaimlerChrysler to 0% during 2002.

* Initiated and grew business to facilities in Mexico for Tower Automotive, a large automotive

customer.

* Provided forecasts and maintained inventories for large corporate accounts and regional branch

facilities.

* Worked with warehouses and processors to insure timely delivery and correct processing of

customer material.

* Marketed new products such as anti-fingerprint and 120 ksi flat rolled products to new and existing

East Coast service centers and other flat roll purchasers.

addition to some flat rolled accounts in Mexico.

* Managed the Quality Department for Feralloy Corp.’s most profitable facility consisting of System

Engineer, QS/ISO Coordinator and Mechanical Testers.

product based on chemistry and mechanical properties.

* Audited producing mills and presented nonconforming material to mill technical

representatives.

* Aided in startups of new Feralloy-Chicago Plant, as well as Steel Dynamics and Trico minimills.

* Traveled with Sales Department to provide technical expertise in setting up new orders and solving

quality issues.

* Expanded sales of Feralloy products to other North American locations for existing customers.

* Represented Feralloy at various industry conferences, include Pressure Vessel Manufacturers

Association meetings.

* Responsible for all quality issues on Hot Rolled and Tin Products at Gary Works, IN.

* Assigned grades and processing parameters to Hot Rolled and Tin Products.

* Conducted trials to determine capability limits of 84” Hot Strip Mill and worked with contractors

during the 2 year major $100 million 84” Hot Strip Mill upgrade.

* Solved quality problems and wrote corrective actions for product nonconformances.

* Technical lead on team responsible for $30 million coiler upgrade of 84” Hot Strip Mill.
