PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Graduate Assistant, Department of Electrical Engineering, UMKC Jan 2013
- Present
• Involved in assisting Professor Khosrow Sohraby with his courses.
• Conducting and grading exams for under graduate and graduate students.
• Supervising and guiding students in their research projects.
Teaching Assistant, Department of Electrical Engineering, UMKC Sept 2012-
Dec 2012
• Involved in assisting undergraduate students in Microcomputer Laboratory and course
work.
• Other duties related to grading and conducting examinations.
Student Assistant in Access Services - Front Desk, UMKC April 2012
– Present
• Working as student assistant in access services (Miller – Nichols Library at UMKC)
(Tejaswi Uppalapati) 1 of 2
• Assist students by providing necessary information, maintaining records, shelving,
shelf reading and fronting
Intern, Microlink Solutions, Vijayawada, India May 2010-
Nov 2010
• Developed and tested a live project ‘Water level Monitoring and Controlling’ in-order
to control the overflow of water in tanks and reservoirs.
PROJECTS
Verilog HDL (Using SynaptiCAD)
Digital System Design of an 8-bit Up/Down Counter:
• Designed an 8-bit up/down counter that has different logical units. An application for
this is semi-automated parking lot gate.
• Wrote Test benches of top level module in Verilog and tested it for all possible input
combinations.
Wireless Networking (Using OPNET Simulator)
• Performance investigation of 802.11: Simulated the performances of WLAN overall
throughput in a given network when only one or more than one node generates traffic
with Access Point (AP) enabled and disabled studying the performances of Queue
Size, Medium Access Delay, Dropped Data Packets, and effects of RTS/CTS
with/without AP on packet transfer time (enabled and disabled conditions) during
transmission in the network.
LTE
• Studied and observed the behavior of LTE network in three different scenarios- 7
Cells_video_app, EPC_backbone, uplink_scheduling_study.
Wireless Communications (Using MATLAB)
Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio
• The three spectrum sensing techniques : Matched Filtering, Energy Detection, Cyclo-
stationary Detection methods for primary user presence in the radio environment are
performed in MATLAB and analyzed whether the spectrum can be utilized by the
secondary user or not.
Radar Systems (Using MATLAB)
Linear Phased Array
• The antenna is operated in a phased array mode for search operations, array
simulations involve obtaining results for gain, beamwidth and overall array radiation
pattern for various array topologies.
• Developed MATLAB code for array topology using Dolph-Chebyshev distributions
and Taylor distributions.
Advanced VLSI
3D Integrated Circuit Design
(Tejaswi Uppalapati) 2 of 2
• Due to high integration, increased power density, low thermal conductivities, the
temperature and leakage power of IC (inter-dependent) are increasing continuously.
• Proposed and discussed different methods and algorithms to minimize temperature
and leakage power.
Analog IC Design
Two stage Op-amp
• Using Cadence virtuoso, schematic, layout of two stage op-amp is drawn and
executed.
