This position demanded strict adherence to manufacturing specifications and achievement of production
targets with utmost care given to manpower management and judicious use of raw materials. Implementing
new technologies in the manufacturing process was emphasized too.
Responsibility and Leadership
Accountable for all developments in production and maintenance in the Casting Unit
Managed a production staff of 20 and a maintenance staff of 8 to achieve set production target
Recruited, trained and monitored progress of 3 new employees
Negotiated and successfully resolved production hampering issues such as poor quality of lead ingots
between the Workers Union and Management
Taking the Initiative
Built a team of technicians and welders to successfully cordon off the Lead Pot openings to prevent
contamination of operators workspace by dross

part of 6 man cross-functional team, making design changes and SOP modifications, in collaboration
with Pasting and other departments

Increased machine performance by troubleshooting and resolving a shrinkage problem in 9Ah positive
mold by studying and redesigning its cooling system
