. Evaluate and treat work related injuries, disorders and prepare
employees to successful return to work while acting as a liaison
between the clinic and various company case workers.
. Provide assessment, order labs and order workup to provide initial
intervention to patient suspected of having a heart attack and acute
abdomen and make appropriate referral to the Emergency Room.
. Diagnose and provide in office interventional treatment for patients
with acute conditions such as asthma attack and COPD Exacerbation to
include titrated oxygen therapy, Albuterol Nebulizer treatment,
steroid injections and monitoring based on clinical exam and ordered
Pulmonary Function Test, Peak flow and pulse oximetry.
. Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and emergent medical
problems. Responsibilities include: assess diagnosis of medical
conditions, illness or injuries; determine treatment cause and
prescribe medications based on patient's history, physical examination
and laboratory findings. Common medical conditions managed include ear
pain and infections, respiratory infection, gastrointestinal upset,
gastritis, skin infections, conjunctivitis, Urinary Tract Infections
and sexually Transmitted diseases, anxiety headaches, colds, sprains
and strains as well as splinting fractures before orthopedic referral
. Perform a wide range of comprehensive general, occupational and urgent
care medicine duties including taking patient histories; examining
patients; ordering and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory studies;
making diagnoses; formulating and implementing an appropriate
treatment plan. Prescribe medication, including the appropriate
dosage.
. Perform comprehensive pre-employments physicals, DOT physicals and
sports physicals therapeutic procedures
. Perform timely evaluation and treatment of emergent and urgent care
patients as well as arrange for appropriate referral to the Emergency
Room; facilitate specialist or Primary care follow up when
appropriate
. Perform Urgent care services such as managing cases of COPD and Asthma
exacerbation, Simple and deep Laceration Repair with Sutures, Ingrown
Toenail Avulsion, Incision and Drainage of Abscesses, perform Pelvic
exams to determine and treat specific cause of Vaginitis, evaluate
Abdominal and Chest pain patients, order studies and interpret studies
such as EKGs, Urinalysis, CBCs, Chemistry Profile, X-rays to
determine treatable etiology and/or emergent referral when
appropriate.
. Compile patient medical data, including health history and results of
physical examination, order laboratory tests to aid diagnosis,
prescribe medications, monitor medication side effects and make
changes based on these laboratory findings.
. Order and interpret laboratory studies to determine treatment,
prescribe medications and other forms of in office treatments for
conditions such as acute asthma exacerbation. Monitor these
medications and their side effects, order labs to monitor adverse drug
effects and make appropriate changes when indicated.
. Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed
therapeutic regimens and health maintenance in a culturally sensitive
manner
. Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress
notes, and assist in provision of continuity of care through
referrals to Physical Therapist and other specialists
. Follow patient progress and make changes in treatment as necessary
. Apply local anesthetic, examine and clean wounds, incises and drain
abscesses
. Suture lacerations, remove sutures, perform wound care, and manage
infections based on culture findings
