o Performs a variety of determinations on different bodily fluids
such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and complete Description
blood counts; confirms and verifies test results and report
findings to clinicians.
o Performs phlebotomies, including capillary punctures and
venipunctures as appropriate for the patient requiring the
procedure.
o Collects body fluids and material such as urine, blood, and
throat cultures.
o Collect blood or tissue samples from patients, observing
principles of aseptic to obtain blood sample.
o Performs and reviews quality controls in testing; decides if
results are within acceptable ranges, researches problems and
corrects.
o Processes specimens utilizing protocols and technical knowledge.
o Perform proper Cross-matching blood for transfusions
o Prepares specimens to be stored or transported to the reference
laboratory.
o Operates, calibrates, and conducts performance checks on
clinical laboratory equipment.
o Validates and reports results of tests performed.
