. Deliver merchandise and collect payment.
. Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or
production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or
containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
. Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them
after use.
. Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or
using hoists.
. Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes.
. Sort items to be delivered according to the delivery route.
. Check with home offices after completed deliveries, in order to
confirm deliveries and collections and to receive instructions for
other deliveries.
. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in
order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
. Lubricate machinery, vehicles, or equipment or perform minor repairs
or adjustments, using hand tools.
. Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests,
invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping
orders, to route materials.
. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to
the vehicles.
