Dissertation work entitled "Development of Herbal formulation for the

treatment of Diabetic neuropathy in rats." As per OECD guidelines under the

guidance of Dr.I.Sudheer Babu, Principal, SIR C.R REDDY College of

Pharmacy, Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Objective of study: Development of herbal formulation to treat Diabetes

induced neuropathic pain.

Methods: Induction of Diabetes to rats by Streptozotocin method. Evaluation

of pain perception by different methods like hot plate, cold plate, tail

immersion, formalin test. Measurement of inflammatory mediators like TNF-?

and Interleukin-1? and antioxidant enzymes like superoxide dismutase,

catalase, glutathione peroxidase and oxidant levels like nitric oxide,

lipid per oxidation levels. Evaluation of nerve protective efficacy of the

herbal formulation in C, A? and sciatic nerve fibers in diabetic rats.
