I managed the Pipe Mill Roll Shop for
which the rolls were cut and also roll stands were built
up for #1 and #2 mills. I also managed the mechanical
maintenance for both #1 and #2 mills. In this role I
planned out downturns, outages and projects. I also had
dealings with vendors and contractors to plan and execute
bring parts in, upgrades to the mills and general pm work.
I now manage the #1 mill Hot Reducing, Straightening and
Normalizing operations. I am responsible for working with
my shift managers, overall safety of the crews, writing and
creating SJP's, SOP's, ECP's and any other procedures
needed for the operations. I have frequent contacts with
other departments to ensure the pipe mills are providing
quality products as not to hold up production in down
stream units. I also responsible for planning and
organizing down turns, upgrades and outages and general
maintenance for my area of responsibility.
2003- 2009 Hot Strip Shift Manager

I supervised the 80" Hot Strip Mill and
Roll Shop departments. I was responsible for the safety of
each crew holding monthly safety meetings and daily
contacts. I was also responsible for all quality and making
sure the product meets customer expectations before leaving
the Hot Strip Mill and being moved to the shipping or
reprocess lines.
1995 - 2003 Roller-Turn Foreman

I supervise the rolling mill and ccl departments. I
ensure quality products and that production goals
are met. I am responsible for the safety of all the men on
my crew and explaining the importance of safety through
weekly contacts and
monthly safety meetings.
1992 - 1994 First Caster, First Helper and Second Helper,
Tennessee Valley Steel, Harriman, Tennessee
I operated a Koppers/Rokof billet caster with Daneli
automatics. This was a 3 strand caster running 4" and 4.5"
billets. I also operated a 30 ton EAF and ladle
furnace.
1990 - 1992 Mechanic / Supervisor

I operated and repaired machinery for grinding microscope
slides. I was responsible for setting up equipment to
specification for each product. I also maintained the flow
of production and ensured a quality product was being
produced.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS SUMMARY:
I have knowledge in repairing ladles, tundish boxes,
runners and furnaces. I have also worked in the roll shop
building guide boxes and stands. I can also operate an
overhead crane from a cab and pigtail. I have also
obtained a forklift license
and can operate a 966D Cat, back hoe, marklift and bobcat.
I can weld and fabricate, use cutting torches, grinders and
other hand machinery.
I am also proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point.
