OBJECTIVE:

I have over 28 years’ Operations and Risk Management experience in the public and private

sector. Most recently I have had the privilege of serving the good people of Ogden City as the

Risk Management Coordinator and prior to that I served over 22 years with my friends at the

Davis Applied Technology College (DATC). My experience includes a rich and resourceful

disciplines. In addition to earning several certifications during my career at the DATC I continued

Management Coordinator

As a self-insured entity this position acted as the city insurance adjuster including;

investigations, settlements, liability claims, subrogation, case management and contracts.

Managed workplace injuries, Worker Compensation (WC) claims, third party administrators,

light duty program and subsequent coordination with the Human Resource Department.

Advised City Public Safety, Public and Management Services in risk aversion strategies

utilizing a collaborative model applying; logic, reasoning, persuasion, negotiation, healthy

debate and verbal defense.

Successfully abated 21-city wide OSHA citations and initiated long term strategies to avoid

future violations. Created a relationship with OSHA consultation for continued improvements.

Reduced active WC claim files by 50% within the first 90 days of employment.

Proposed a comprehensive City wide OSHA Safety Compliance Programs with Training

Outlines for each, ensuring future employee safety and solidifying risk reduction strategies.

Maintained limited duty return to work program for injured employees reducing workers

compensation costs and provided productive under-utilized resources back to the city.

Third Party Insurance & Medical Liaison for health, property and liability coverage including

the city Drug & Alcohol Testing Program and Accident Review Program.

Maintained medical records and kept confidential reports ensuring HIPPA compliance.

Developed an employee required training program for each department and ensured a

tracking mechanism for 533 fulltime employees and over 400 part time employees.
