SUMMARY:

Versatile chemical engineer with through educational and experimental background in reaction kinetics,

pressure drop calculations, material and energy balance, cost estimation of a plant and reactor design.

Knowledge and experience in Flow Assurance region (i.e. in hydrate formation techniques and in Under–

inhibited systems) and in the current and emerging Flow Assurance technologies and strategies used in

handling the hydrate problems in oilfield industry.

Involved and recommended a process for a plant which involves design, optimization (using simulation

software HYSIS) and cost analysis.

Capable of learning new concepts quickly, working well in a team or individually and producing results

effectively under pressure (organized events as a member in IICHE and AICHE).

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech (presented research reports in Advisory Board

Meetings (ABM) in Chevron and University of Tulsa).

OBJECTIVE: Looking for a full-time position which offers a challenging environment where my limits are

stretched and my strengths and skills are utilized in order to contribute effectively to the success of the

organization.

WORK HISTORY:

Research Associate: Sep 12 - Present

Indoor Air Quality Program (IAP) - University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK

Objective: Assessing the effectiveness of cleaning in school environments. Establishing a relationship

between cleaning effectiveness & student health.

Process involves measurement of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) for characterization and ultimate

reduction of potentially harmful contamination on variety of surfaces & materials.

Involves three methods : 1) using ATP swabs 2) Dazo Gel technology 3) Dip slide method

Multiphase Flow Loop Operator: Mar 12 –Aug 12

Tulsa Paraffin Deposition Project (TUPDP) - University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK

Objective: Studying the multiphase paraffin deposition for different flow patterns in horizontal & vertical

pipes.

Worked as an operator for the test facility to run experiments. Test facility consists of oil system, gas

system, glycol circulation system, oil/gas separator, oil/gas heat trimming system, test section and data

acquisition system.

Research Assistant: Dec 09- Dec 11

Tulsa Hydrates Flow Performance (TUHFP) - University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK

Research Project: “Understanding the hydrate formation mechanism in under –inhibited systems”

Objective: Quantify hydrate formation characteristics in Under – inhibited systems like 1) Interaction of

hydrate particles with wall and aggregation into hydrate lumps 2) Interface development & hydrate growth

3) Effect of sub cooling & inhibitor concentration (0-20%) on agglomeration of particles.

Worked with simulation programs like Hysis and PVTsim.

Conducted experiments with fluids cyclopentane (hydrate former), fresh water/brine (0-7%), inhibitors like

MEG/MeOH (0-20% concentration) and by varying sub cooling and mixing method.

Compared and documented the results of un- inhibited (vs) under – inhibited tests.

Analyzed under - inhibition range for which plugging tendency is increased

Documented a report which gives insight on mechanisms for jumper studies with hydrates and which helps

in optimizing the design of inhibitor injection facilities

Presented research work once in every 6 months in advisory board meeting (ABM) in front of company

people at University of Tulsa and Chevron (Houston).

Independent Study:

It deals with the "State of the art of current and emerging flow assurance technologies and strategies to

prevent, manage and/or remediate hydrate problems in the oil field industry".

This study speaks in detail about the flow assurance problem named "HYDRATES" which is a major

problem in present oil and gas industry.

Teaching Assistant:

Supervised students in Fluid mechanics and Heat and Mass Transfer subjects and also graded their

Assignments and quiz papers.

Associate Software Engineer: May 08- Dec 08

Accenture Services Private Limited – Hyderabad, India

Worked on Data Stage ETL tool and Business Objects Reporting Tool for Michelin Project and Abinitio

ETL tool for Sun Trust project.

Chemical Engineer Trainee: June 07- April 08

Meenakshi Polymers – Hyderabad, India

“Design of Air Distribution System for Titanium Sponge Reactor”

Objective: It is to 1) Calculate the Heat to be removed and 2) Find the capacity and head of the cooling

air delivery blower.

Titanium sponge is produced by the reaction of molten magnesium with TiCl4 vapors at temperatures in

the range of 800 ~ 830oC forming Titanium sponge and MgCl2.

This is a highly exothermic reaction and the reaction heat is removed by cooling the reactor with cold air.

Btech Final Year Project: Dec 06 - Mar 07

Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) – Hyderabad, India

“Synthesis of Carbazole”

Objective: This project mainly aims at the development of process

for the commercial production of carbazole using 1, 3-cyclohexanedione as a raw material.

In real time application, carbazole structure acts as a motif (base compound) in pharmaceuticals such as

carvedilol which is used to treat high blood pressure and to prevent cardiac arrhythmic and angina (heart

diseases).

Carbazole also has its biological applications like, it acts as anticancer agent in animal & human systems

and it is present in number of natural products which are found to process pharmacological properties like

anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-implantation activities.

Undergraduate Intern: May 06 - June 06

Defense Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL) – Hyderabad, India

“Design of Air Distribution System for Titanium Sponge Production”
