Third Year Internship in IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Ltd)
Project work on “Troubleshooting of pump failures and mechanical seals” and Industrial
Training in IOCL (May to July 2011)
o Description: Undergone an industrial training for a period of 8 weeks at Guwahati Refinery.
Understood various processes involved in refining of crude oil a nd project is done on the study
and analysis of pump failures and mechanical seals for understanding of the mode of seal failure to
lead extending the life of rotary equipment by improving seal design and material selection,
installation and operating procedures.
Second Year Internship in NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation)
Project work on “Study on Turbine And Its Maintenance” in the Turbine maintenance Department
and industrial training in NTPC Limited (December 2010)
o Description: The project is done on study of classification of turbines used based on the steam
condition at inlet to turbine and its principle of operation as well as its components and different
systems used and all maintenance.
Projects Undertaken:
Bachelor Thesis Project
Development of heat transfer in pressurized circulating fluidized bed.
o A theoretical study is performed to modify an existing model that is used to predict the heat
transfer coefficient in circulating fluidized bed then the variation of the coefficient with
parameters is presented. The heat transfer coefficient in circulating fluidized bed can be
considered to consist of particle and gas convective heat transfer and radiative heat transfer,
whose contribution becomes significant at elevated bed temperatures.

Title: Mini-project on designing mechanism for transfer of deck of bridge.
o Where the bridges are to be constructed over very deep valleys where wind is very gutsy, the
usual approach for building bridges is not at all economical and very time taking. Thus, a new
innovative mechanism is proposed here which is feasible in extreme conditions
