As the Unit is newly commissioned, there were not much for
performing the maintenance and inspection related. New schemes(RSU
Indian Oil bypass scheme, Coker Naphtha line from OMS to MSQ Unit Scheme, DIH
Corporation Recycle line connection to heavy Isomerate) have been executed.

After completion of the M&I Shutdown of the refinery, MSQ Complex
(AUG 11) has been started as per normal commissioning startup procedure.
Due to the execution of the new schemes Throughput of the complex
has been increased by 20%. (Before shutdown unit was operating at
110% of the design throughput and after startup we were able to
operate the unit at 130% of the design throughput while maintaining
EURO3 MS Specifications.)
TCPP and TPP Worked as a Process Engineer in the Tapti Complex during Shutdown
Commissioning and Startup of the complex. All the maintenance jobs have been
after complete executed safety and on time as per the plan.

satellite with its Satellite platforms STA,STB,STC,STD and MTA have been
platforms completely shut down for performing Major Maintenance jobs like
BG-Group Flare tip replacement, MTA spools replacement, Compressor Engine
(April 12) replacement jobs.etc.
This is the only complete platform shutdown after the initial
commissioning of the Process platform.
Conversion of IG Worked as a Process Engineer in the Satellite Platforms (STA and
to IA System at STC) during the execution of IG to IA conversion project. Project
Satellite has been successfully commissioned within the planned period.
Platforms in
Tapti Field Complete Satellite Platform shutdown has been taken. Platform has
been depressurized and purged with N2. New Spools which were pre
BG-Group erected have been connected to the existing IG system. All the
(Jul-Aug 12) instrument tubing's have been Purged with N2. All the panel related
lines were completely purged. Existing IG connections have been
disconnected and blinded. Newly connected line was flushed and
commissioned. Panel has been charged with Instrument Air (IA).
Platform startup has been done as per the safe startup procedure.
Satellite platforms in the Tapti field have become much more safer
to work after execution of this project.
Working as a Platform representative in the rig during the drilling
MTA#7,8,9 campaign of MTA#7, 8, 9.
New ERD Wells Job involves the coordination with different teams for performing
Commissioning simultaneous operations, shutdown and startup operations, Pre
commissioning and commissioning of flow arms of newly drilled
BG-GROUP wells, flow back of newly drilled wells with expro team,
(May12- Present) Coordination with the Coiled tubing team for N2 activation and
flowing the well through the normal flow line.
Commissioned the newly drilled ERD MTA#8,9 wells. These are the
first ERD wells for BG or any other company in India.
Worked as an Operational Representative during the well
intervention jobs at the Various Satellite platforms of Tapti
Well Field. Job involves the coordination with various teams and
Intervention managing the operations as per the work packs with HSSE at top
Campaign in the priority.
Satellite
Platforms of As the production in Tapti field is coming down, Various well
Tapti Field. intervention activities have been performed in the satellite
platform to increase and sustain the production from the Tapti
BG-GROUP Complex.
(Dec 11- Nov12) Acid Stimulation, Coiled Tubing Operation, Wire line Operations,
Slick line Operation have been performed on many wells to increase
the production. During the well intervention job, safety has been
kept at the top priority. All the intervention projects were
delivered safety. Many of the wells production got increased due to
the well intervention activities performed.

PROJECT: ADSORPTION OF WATER VAPOUR ON VARIOUS CEMENTITIOUS
SUBSTRATES.
TU BERGAKADEMIE, I measured the water vapour adsorption isotherms of various
FREIBERG, cementitious substrates. Isotherms are measured by DVS method which
GERMANY is performed by Automated moisture sorption analyzer. These
adsorption isotherms will be used to know the amount of water
(MAY'07-JUL'07) vapour adsorbed or desorbed in a building when ever there is a
change in the weather or change in the relative humidity in the

are also studied.

RESEARCH/DESIGN EXPERIENCE
PROJECT: OPTIMAL CONTROL
This project deals with the design of the optimal control for a
system in control input and a cost function. Optimal control law is
IIT GUWAHATI obtained by the minimization of certain cost function or the
performance criteria. A proper cost function would be a
B.TECH FINAL YEAR mathematical expression giving the traveling time as a function of
PROJECT the speed, geometrical considerations, and initial conditions of
the system. This project also deals with the mathematical modelling
(JAN'07 - MAY'08) of the system. In this project optimal control law is obtained by
taking the quadratic performance index. The design of optimal
control can be changed by choosing different performance criteria.
Performance criteria depend on the type of the control problem. The
optimal control design can also be improved by making a change in
the performance criteria i.e., by multiplying the error with some
factor such that the control action will be better compared to the
control action obtained from the previous design. Three different
approaches have been studied for the design of optimal control.
They are applied for the case of bioreactor.
PROJECT: REMOVAL OF PHENOL FROM INDUSTRIAL WASTE WATER.
Equilibrium and dynamic studies were performed experimentally for
adsorption of phenol. Dynamic studies were performed after
IIT GUWAHATI designing a fixed bed adsorption column. The dynamic break through
curve was also simulated in ACM software. The simulated and the
experimental curve are compared and the difference is attributed to
(FEB'06 - DEC'06) underestimation of film mass transfer coefficient which was
estimated from existing correlations.
