JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducting welder performance qualification test for welder as per ASME section IX
codes and specifications
• Control the consumables for welding storage / issue / usage
• Visual inspection of fit ups prior to the welding
• Inspecting the materials as per ASME section II parts A,B,C
• Assuring of only qualified and approved welders for available jobs by periodical
checkups.
• Selecting suspect weld joints for required NDT, Verifying repair jobs on field, inspecting
for any damage to materials and taking suitable corrective actions.
• Reviewing Hydro test Packages for NDT coverage as per line class and issuing punch
items after field verification on lines that are within the test limits into categories before and
after testing.
• Verifying punch items cleared and approving packages for final release for testing.
• Witnessing Hydro/Visual test, Pneumatic/Service test, Bolt Torque & Tensioning as
applicable.
• Reporting for any discrepancies/malfunctioning/violations & issuing SSR, NCR’S etc. as
applicable.

• Pre-Cleaning & surface preparation inspection such as metal condition, environmental
conditions, air quality, air pressure, degree of surface cleaning, surface profile, salt
contamination.
• Reviewing test certificates of welding consumables.
• Review the coating application procedure and the repair of Coating procedure.
• Inspecting the materials for hot insulation as per procedures.
• Inspecting of final inspection of hot insulation.
