Lean Project Management, Design For Construction [Dfc], and Schedule
Adherence Leader
Achievement Summary
. As Senior Project Manager [PM], delivered millions of dollars in
annual values; achieved by optimizing scheduling and identifying
expense reduction, optimum production flow, and economy of scale
opportunities. Directed completion of very complex, unique elements.
. As PM with McCarthy Building Companies, managed the Mechanical,
Electrical, Plumbing [MEP] and all specialty components of a $220M
hospital project.
. As entrepreneur, built up and divested, for exponential stakeholder
returns, a highly remunerative HVAC enterprise.
Offers Outstanding Leadership Skills In:
Operations Management -- on the basis of over two decades of experience in
every facet of commercial, healthcare, and institutional construction,
identifies and capitalizes on efficiency improvement opportunities. Serves
as Building Information Modeling (BIM) subject matter expert. Manages
intensive estimating portfolios; direct general contractor project managers
and external vendors including specialty trades; assures start-up cost and
schedule target adherence (controls expenditures for labor, equipment,
material and services and calculates forecast labor unit rates); negotiates
all major change orders. During course of career, managed over $1B in
construction projects. Overall, maintained a 99% on time, on budget record
with below average percentage (less than 5%) of change orders.
Safety Programming -- generates and enforces worker safety protocols and
safe construction road maps; balances safety concerns with advanced
knowledge of leadership principles and ways to implement successful ALARA
[as low as reasonably achievable] construction programs. In the past ten
years, sites managed have experienced very low ratios of accident leave.
Construction Management -- Provides exceptional management practices based
on unique knowledge of complex hospital, institutional and research
facility MEP systems. Through value engineering, identified opportunities
and negotiated numerous project expense reductions. Administers contracts
in the $40M-100M+ range. Senior strategist for value and DFC engineering
(includes developing budget options and conducting constructability
reviews), CPM (critical path method) scheduling, and LEED compliance.
