In this unit we are responsible for managing two patients at a time. Most
patients are on life support and require titration of sedatives and
vasopressors. You are expected to be knowledgeable in CCRT, cardiac
monitoring and use of sedatives/paralytics. There is a wide variety in the
type of patients admitted to this unit. Common types of admissions are
COPD, ARDS, kidney failure, congestive heart failure, pulmonary embolism,
liver failure, hypertension crisis, DKA, and sepsis.

In this unit we are responsible for three patients at a time. Most patients
are on the ventilator via tracheostomy and require cardiac monitoring. The
