Re: Letter of Reference for Donald Busakowski
To whom it may concern:
Don was employed at our company as a Controller for a period of just over eight years from
December 2004 to January 2013.
During this period he reported directly to me. His duties and responsibilities included
overseeing the accounting department, preparing, reviewing and finalizing our financial
statements and preparing, analyzing and maintaining our product costing. Don was also the
primary contact with our bankers, CPA, insurance and benefits providers. He was able to
complete these duties effectively while still being able to roll up his sleeves and get into the
daily details as needed.
Don was at all times very co-operative and extremely competent. He accepted his
responsibilities with eagerness and completed them in a timely and professional manner. He
displayed a great talent to break down the most complex financial issues in a manner that
could be clearly understood by non-financial people. He embraced the challenge of working
through big picture decisions with common sense and the bottom line in mind.
Don would be an asset to any organization. It is with regret that Don left our company,
however his success with us resulted in his attaining all the challenges we had to offer and he
wished to find new challenges. I have every confidence that Don will have a successful career
with any organization he joins.
Sincerely,
President

Attention: To Whom It May Concern
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Jason Nordby and I have known Don Busakowski for the past seven years and for the last five years
I have served as his employee benefits broker at Van Holten’s. It is with absolutely no reservations that I
strongly recommend Don to you as a wonderful candidate for your organization.
In the time we have worked together he has shown himself to be a person of character, intelligence and most of
all a wonderful leader and ambassador to his business and fellow employees. In his role, Don has responsibility
of leading and overseeing a wide range of processes and essentially has led in the greatest growth his company
has ever experienced. Don conducts his multitude of responsibilities with no change in attitude or approach,
always level headed, forward thinking and proactive. In fact, it is correct to say that in our relatively brief time
working together, Don has set the standard for what I wish all of my customers would do well to follow. He
displays a tremendous work ethic, a positive attitude, a proven ability to rise to any situation, a skilled eye for
resolving difficult situations, an ability to apply common sense to any situation and most importantly he
possesses great communication skills with all whom he interacts with.
It is a combination of these skills and attributes that I know will make Don a tremendous success within your
organization. To support this statement I would note that a skill that really sets him apart as a top performer is
his ability to always stay ahead of the curve in knowing what is happening in the market and what impact it will
have. To be able to macro manage the big picture while still being able to understand and evaluate the micro
managed details. Working with CFOs and CEOs on a regular basis as I do, I cannot stress enough how very
unique this ability is. I often find that people can either do one or the other well in this role, but rarely both.
Furthermore, as his Benefits Broker, Don always makes a point to discuss not only his insurance
goals/objectives with me, but how these interact with the overall business goals of the organization, and how
these two work hand in hand to help the company to continuously improve and grow.
Outside of his professional skills, I have also had opportunity to get to know Don and see him demonstrate his
fun, positive outlook on life, his upbeat and humble nature, his dedication as a Father and as a devoted husband.
It has been my privilege to know and work with Don and I cannot more highly recommend him to you with
absolutely no reservations for your organization.
Sincerely,
Jason D. Nordby, MS, GBDS
