Seigwerk sept. 2010-aug.2011
While employed for seigwerk I was an inplant at their facility in franklin Ohio at the Sunoco
packaging plant I performed normal duties of an inplant and was given a meritorious raise for my
performance.
Flint Group nov.2007-aug.2010
While employed for Flint I was relocated from Atlanta to Lacrosse to act as in plant manager I
was asked to come in as administrative figure and fix the previous three years’ worth of mistakes
and correct the procedural end of this location. Due to budget constraints the position was
changed to one of production worker and when I would not sign a memo redefining my position
to break company policy of not handling isocyanate cross linkers I was released from their
employment. While there I instituted a five s program and we started get to compliments instead
of complaints I feel this was a positive change but a little too short lived.
Mid-state outpost 2006-2007 While employed for Mid-state I was responsible for running a
small print shop. I proof read the art work, shot the plates, and ran the press a small ab dick
offset press.
Merit Ink and Coating / Wikoff color March 2002 –
May 2005
Lab Technician: Current responsibilities assistant manager at scientific games Inc. my duties
include ordering all the inks and coatings for this twelve million dollar a year account,
documenting and simplifying procedures for merit employees. I was also working on a new bar
coding system to simplify inventory control. In the recent past I have worked on the new
development for one of the conductive black bases limiting the conductivity to fall between the
specified parameters for security reasons. I also worked on a micro encapsulated scent to develop
an ink that smelled like peppermint for a Christmas scratch off ticket as well as Designing a new
water poly surface print formula that achieves instant water resistance off the press.
Reason for leaving: bought out and company downsized
Color Converting Industries April 1999 – November 2001
In-Plant Manager: Acted as the ink room manager for the Griffin Union Camp / International
Paper / Exopack facility. This facility consisted of five inline presses, running water based inks
and three roll-to-roll high-speed presses, running solvent based inks. I was responsible for the
day-to-day operations involved in assuring proper printing of CCI’s inks at this customer facility.
Responsibilities included inventory management, troubleshooting the presses and customer
relations.
Reason for leaving: Customer request please note the next five managers at this location lasted
only four to six weeks each.
Long Ink Corporation of Texas May 1995 – April 1999
President / Owner: As the owner of small water based flexographic ink corporation, I was
responsible for product development, technical service, customer relations, sales, contract
negotiation, inventory, etc. Customers included flexographic printers such as Paksher and
Maxwell Paper.
Reason for leaving: Closed the company due to corp. contract
Atico / Timco January 1994 – March 1995
Production Manager / Laboratory Technician: Responsibilities included the purchase of
equipment needed for the initial startup. I was also responsible designing a new water based
grinding formulas as well as training manufacturing personnel in the production of water based
inks and base lines, cost efficiency evaluations and product research and development.
Reason for leaving: facility closed
Aarberg Printing Inks May 1992 – January 1994
Technical Service Representative / Laboratory Technician: Duties and responsibilities included
technical service, color matching, product development and field service work. Attended
hazardous material class on spill containment and disposal, certifying me for first responder
under OSHA 29cfr1910.120 q6 (1)
Reason for leaving: Company sold out and closed plant
Flint Ink February 1990 – May 1992
Laboratory Technician: I was initially in charge of Quality Control, Color Matching and
Technical Service for Sweetheart Cup. Due to an excellent working relationship with this client,
my duties were expanded to technical service for Sweetheart Cup and an in plant position /
technical service for Jefferson Smurfit Corp. During the final year of my employment with Flint
Ink I worked in the Quality Control department, implementing SPC and TQM programs which
proved very advantageous for the production department.
Reason for leaving: Better position in new company.
Werneke Long Inc. September 1984 – January 1989
Plant Manager / Laboratory Technician: During the 5 years I worked for this company,
operations were expanded from myself and one salesman, operating in a garage type of set-up, to
six employees in production and 3 in the office working in a brand new facility. As plant
manager, I controlled all of the day-to-day activities such as batch production control, color
matching and shipping.
Reason for leaving: Better position in new company
United States Navy - USS Frederick (LST 1184) September 1981 – September 1984
Boatswains Mate: Received letter of appreciation and a letter of commendation along with
various medals and ribbons. Attended extensive firefighting courses on flammable liquids.
