PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Medical Asssistant/Lab Tech

April 2010 to July 2011

Pediatrics of Tampa Bay, Tampa, FL

I Started there as a temp filling in for another MA that was going to be on maternity leave, and after four months

was asked to stay full time.

My responsibilities include: Putting patients in the room and preparing them for the Dr. Take there vitals, ask

questions about there visit, if the visit is for a physical I also did hearing and vision, as well as hemoglobin testing

and also urine testing.

I have a vast experience in Vaccination for children of all ages, along with the cycle and age when vaccinations

are do. I also do venipuncture on children of all ages.

I am also in charged of ordering all supplies that are needed in the lab and keeping up with the ordering of

vaccinations for both private stock and also VFC.

Medical Assistant

January 2009 to March 2010

Lawrenceville Pediatrics, Lawrenceville, GA

Assisted in the back office with all Dr's and or Nurse Practitioners.

Also assisted in Lab duties when short staffed or covering vacations.

Am very knowledgable in the administration of vaccinations on infants and children of all ages, as well as

phlebotomy on all ages. I also prepared the children and infants for there yearly physicals and asked all questions

to the parents pertinent to the age of the child, and prepared the chart with graphing and weight/height/BMI for the

physicians.

During the outburst of H1N1 I was incharged of all clinics and administration of this vaccination and instructed

parents on the pro's and con's of such vaccination.

Front/Back office

April 2008 to January 2009

As Medical Assistant I bring patients back and do all there vital signs (weight,blood pressure check, temperature,

ect.) I also do occasional blood draws and administer injections. I also will do Drug Screens, Breath Alcohol Test,

Audio Test, EKG's.

As Medical Receptionist I am in charged of calling patients to remind them of any appointments that they have

for testing, dr's follow up's, or anyother Dr visit that they have with a specialist. Also I am in incharged of all

incoming mail to distribute to the correct departments, as well as sending emails and faxes with confirmations of

Drug Screens, and any other results that need to be sent.

Of course all of the other things that are involved in the front desk area: Preparing charts, imputting patients into

the computer system, pulling any results and or notes from the computer or calling other Dr's office's for them to

be sent for patients appointments with the Dr, as well as answering phones,taking messages, and doing end of the

day close on the computer.

In the years that I have worked for Dr Jesus Navarro I have been able to use all of my skills that I have learned

This position is what has taught me all that I know about medical referrals being that is what I was hired to do. I

learned what insurances would pay for and what they would not. I also learned all there was to learn about in that

time about the different kinds of HMO'S and PPO'S.

I was also solely in charged of Humana Gold Plus and providing the elderly with the best possible option for them

with this insurance, in some cases as much as having to switch them to a different insurance in there best interest.

As a medical assistant in this office I was incharged of all that had to do with the patients of that office. I would

bring in the patients to the back of the office and would first take them to the lab and do all there pre-visit work up

(vitals, lab work, glucose testing, UA testing, weight, filled out all the presciptions that they needed refilled, also

took down a brief summary for the reason of there office visit that day. I also helped with any in office procedures

that needed to be done.

I also was in charged of all referrals to other physician/ specialist/ and or medical testing that needed to be done,

along with ordering any DME supplies that the patient would be needing.

This was my first job as an MA here I learned what really counted to be an MA.

In this position I was incharged of all that has to do in the back office and occationally would do also front office

for the biling and schedualing the patients and dealing with there insurance.

If I have to compare all of the jobs that I have had I would have to say that this was the most rewarding of them

all.

I would also like to add to my resume that I am fluent in Spanish. I am able to fluently read, speak, and write, as

well as translate in any given situation wether with a patient, staff member, physician, and or also translate

efficiently all papers.

I also have intense training in the following computer programs: Medical Manager, IDX, File Maker, Med View

for radiology, as well a Word, some excel, and basic typing skills of 45+ words per minute.
