Pedro J. Aguirre is a registered architect in the District of Columbia with
experience in Commercial, Institutional, Hospitality, Health Care, Base
Building, Residential and Interior Architecture.
During his architectural training, Mr. Aguirre has practiced in Washington
DC and San Juan, Puerto Rico and is fluent in both Spanish and English with
basic knowledge of French.
Projects range includes the following:
15 Office/Base building, 18 new condominium buildings, 3 hospital
renovations, 2 university projects, 5 laboratories - microbiology and
chemical, 12 pharmaceutical manufacturing projects, 6 school projects -
junior high, and training high school, 2 hotel/casino projects, 1 large
urban plaza/fountain, 40 residential projects and over 40 interior
architectural projects.
In the last ten years Mr. Aguirre has been responsible as Senior Project
Architect for developing the construction drawings and specifications for a
460,000 SF Telecommunications Connecting Facility in SW Washington DC. Also
has been responsible for the Design and construction of the offices of the
DC Mayor and the DC Council at the Wilson Building on 1400 Pennsylvania
Ave, having won the design competition. Also responsible for the
construction supervision and implementation of the design for the Treasury
Department's most important Conference Center.
Mr. Aguirre acquired top secret security clearance to execute work at the
Main State Department building. A 500,000 SF renovation of the "Old State
Office Building" winning a Conservation award. The State Department
facility project included the addition of a new 300 person Auditorium,
Computer Data Center and offices and Diplomatic meeting facilities for
high level officials.
In the next assignment Mr. Aguirre was in charge of the in- house
architectural team for the realignment and redistribution of 2.2 million
Sq. Ft of office space planning. Also provided design management and
leadership in the space planning and interior renovation of 200,000 SF of
several floors for the FBI headquarters in Washington DC.
Also responsible for Space Planning and Design of regional offices
nationally and overseas facilities for the agency as well as the design
of the Director's executive office. Started implementation of LEED
standards and sustainable design and construction policies.
Pedro Aguirre relocated to Puerto Rico in 1996 to develop, design and
construction of two condominium projects in San Juan, as well as doing a
complete re- branding (interior and exterior) of two fast food chains
throughout the island. Also was involved in extensive consultation for
designing the finishes and selecting equipment for two condominium projects
in Coral Gables for a local developer. Designed the Sales office showroom
and brochures for the condominium projects.
Recently employed by Leo A Daly as a Senior Project Manager responsible for
Facility Planning and Design, FBI Quantico, VA.
Monitors projects during Design and Construction, manages workload for the
COTR.
Develops Project SOW's, RFP's, budgets and performs Construction
Administration of campus projects to ensure the designs are consistent
with the approved SOW and budget requirements.
Conducts analysis of campus construction, recreational and parking
facilities. Also develops in- house construction documents for selected
projects of all types.
Currently working with Nestor Santa- Cruz, IIDA, Decoration. The
responsibilities in Decoration include managing the clients,
implementing design solutions, Construction Administration, and
managing and placing furniture orders.
Since last March we have completed 5 residential projects, three of
which have been photographed and featured in local and national
publications like Interior Design and Elle D cor and Veranda.
