Please accept this letter of introduction and enclosed résumé for a position as a Staff Accountant with your organization. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from High Point University with two years of accounting experience. I spent one year as a Tax Compliance Officer for the IRS and one year as an Account Analyst for Inmar.

As a Tax Compliance Officer with the IRS, I had the opportunity to employ several of my strong attributes to insure my audits of individuals and Small Businesses were completed in a timely and effective manner. Indeed, it was imperative to be both inquisitive and detailed-oriented to insure all expense deductions appeared in line with claimed income. Where discrepancies existed, I took the initiative to determine the basis for such inconsistencies and remained committed until the error was found or a valid explanation provided by the taxpayer. As a result of my diligence, my audits uncovered approximately 1.2 million dollars of unpaid Federal taxes.

As an Account Analyst for Inmar, I performed detailed analysis on open receivables for seven pharmaceutical clients. Often, I would have to employ my math aptitude to reconcile a vast amount of unapplied checks received with substantial past due receivable accounts for each client. I also had to employ a significant amount of composure and tact in dealing with insurance carriers in order to convince them of the merits of paying properly submitted pharmaceutical claims for my clients.

In each endeavor, I was charged with learning that organization’s operating systems which I did in a positive and optimistic attitude. In addition, I met all my deadlines as was imperative whether I was conducting audits or collecting past due receivables. Most importantly, I am a dependable, responsible professional who can always be counted on to be present and ready to work hard and gladly put in the extra time the task requires to complete it in a timely and accurate.
