functions. Programs launched: (1) new short box pick up, (4) diesel fuel
economy learning trucks, (2) displacement on demand vehicles, and (3)

Product Development Team Chairperson for 1995 Convertible. Invented
rolling deck lid hinge. Manager over convertible customizer, ASC, of door,
trunk, sealing, electrical and interior systems. Wrote quote specification
and complete ASC contract. Invented an infrared trunk obstruction detector
for use on 1994 convertibles. Received a Suggestion Award in 1995

Managed production vehicle conversion programs, wrote contracts,
coordinated GM and non-GM engineering, testing, and manufacturing
resources. Successfully controlled program cost and timing. Trained
employees on personal computers. Invented a parabolic acting hinge.
Programs managed/launched: four vinyl roofs, two convertibles, a gold
ornamentation package, a fast back coupe, convertible passive restraints, a
high performance power train option, and a convertible electrical system.

Engineering
Responsible for solving all production and warranty problems on hinged
door/sealing systems for all truck and car lines, including new designs for
sealing systems, window mechanisms, door hinges, and latches. Resolved a
20% warranty failure rate on truck power window systems. Contributed to
the development of a new window motor and a door lock motor with zero
warranty defects. Invented a lower cost, double acting, lift gate hinge
with potential savings of $25,000/yr/carline.

Product Design Engineer A, Special Mechanisms, Body Engineering
1982-1984
Responsible for all engineering phases of spare tire carriers, flip out
windows and federal compliance testing on all light and medium trucks.
Engineered and introduced a flip out/removable quarter window option that
was unique to the industry. Invented and developed new spare tire lock
that resulted in improved theft prevention and cost savings of $75,000/yr.
Saved $346,000/yr by redesigning spare tire support. Invented a new lock
open/close window latch that reduced warranty and break-ins, currently used
on all Ford truck products. Received two suggestion awards.
Product Design Engineer B, Ornamentation Department, Body Engineering
1979-1982
Responsible for tape stripes, luggage carriers, body side moldings,
tailgate moldings and air deflectors. Proposed $221,066/yr savings by
relocating body side molding that would also improve door ding protection.
Invented industry first plastic bolt-on molding retainer, with in improved
corrosion protection, reduced cost, and less complexity.
