Strike Fighter Squadron 15, NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach VA, 2009-2012
Served as an avionics and electronics technician / Collateral Duty Inspector. Lead up to 15 avionics and
electronic technicians in the performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the 12 of the Navy’s
F/A-18C aircraft. The systems include radar, weapon/fire control systems, displays,
communication/navigation/identification (CNI) equipment, data link, and reconnaissance, Advance Targeting
Forward Looking Infrared with ROVER capability, Link-16, as well as acquiring, loading and destruction of
digital and analog cryptologic material all while in compliance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program
4790.2A. Performed wire cutting, tinning, and stripping; identified the characteristics of RF cables and
connectors; understands time domain reflectonomy; understands the characteristics of coaxial, twin axial and
triaxial connectors; and apply wire repair techniques.
Served as an avionics night shift supervisor leading six technicians during a seven month combat
deployment in support of Operation New Dawn and Operation Enduring Freedom completing over
2000 maintenance actions, 200 ATFLIR transfers and over 300 release and control checks, the
simulated release of all air-to-air and air-to-ground ordinance in the United States Navy inventory.
This led to the completion of over 430 combat sorties at an unprecedented 100% sortie completion
rate as well as the squadron being named 2011 Battle “E” winner, awarded to the best strike fighter
squadron in the Atlantic Fleet.

Served as Release and Control Check team member during the Conventional Weapons Testing
Proficiency Inspection, an inspection that ultimately gives the squadron the qualification to load and
drop ordinance. Achieving a near perfect score of 750 out of 800.
During a major live weapons training exercise in Fallon, NV. Performed the function of Integrated
Weapons Team Member as well as a night shift supervisor, during the time allowing VFA-15 to
unleashed 100,000 lbs. air-to-ground ordinance during the detachment.
During a live weapons detachment to Eglin Air Force Base, served as night shift supervisor and
release and control team member in which VFA-15 launched an unprecedented seven live air-to-air
missiles in five days with at a kill rate of 100%, directly resulting in the squadron winning the 2010
Grand Slam Award, given to the strike fighter squadron who best demonstrates excellence in of air-to-
air weapon utilization.
Served as the Work Center Training Petty Officer ensuring that the work center routinely produced
outstanding results on training audits. Effectively coordinated the training of five junior personnel by
implementing an aggressive schedule which resulted in eleven new Release and Control Team
Members qualifications.
EXCELLENT TECHNICIAN - Quickly identifying problems and taking corrective action despite
difficulties in obtaining replacement parts was the key element in ensuring over 85% of the ATFLIR
assets were fully mission capable at all times during deployment. Utilizing his extensive knowledge
of F/18C weapon systems, he played an integral role in preparing for the Navy Weapons Systems
Evaluation Program detachment. His efforts resulted in the mishap free expenditure of seven live
missiles for the vital combat raining of 11 pilots.
Avionics and Electronics Technician/ Supervisor
Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic, NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, Virginia 2002-2009
Performed intermediate-level maintenance on aviation electronic components supported by conventional/automatic
test equipment, including repair of weapons replaceable assemblies (WRA) and shop replaceable assemblies (SRA).
Conducted test equipment calibration/repair and associated bench maintenance. Operated and maintained the
CASS test station. Performed fault isolation and maintenance on aircraft electro optics (EO) and units under tests
(UTTs), utilizing EO configuration of CASS test station. Conducted in-depth circuit analysis, adjust/repair, and
serviceability verification of AN/APG-65, AN/APG-73, AN/AWG-9, and AN/APS-137 radar systems. Executed
and monitored test programs/repairs on various avionics UUTs through R&R of faulty SRAs. Tested, troubleshot,
repaired, and aligned KS-87D, KA-153A cameras, AN/AAD-5A infrared reconnaissance system, AN/AAM-76 test
bench and LM-230B programmable automatic camera (PAC) test set.
Supervised over 20 electronic technicians performing a wide range of complex electrical repairs on
107 weapons replaceable assembly’s in support of 17 F/A -18 squadrons.
Tactfully approached production efforts in the repair of 3,165 avionics for F/A-18 Hornet and Super
Hornets. Performed 513 quality assurance inspections resulting to a 41% reduction in the work
center’s backlog.
Trained 25 personnel proper troubleshooting maintenance procedures for APG 65 / 73 RADAR
components, as well as administrative requirements within the work center.
AIR Speed savvy. Utilizing the research findings from four Enterprise AIR Speed Rapid Improvement
Events. Implemented standard operating procedures and optimized product flow, resulting in the
reduction of the Receiver Exciter (R/E) Weapons Ready Assembly (WRA) and Time to Reliably
Replenish (TRR) by 41% while increasing throughput by 13%.
Willing and responsible. Qualified as the Petty Officer In Charge of Gate Operations and Dispatcher
while assigned to the Auxiliary Security force. Efforts maintained controlled access to flight lines and
base.

Proven leader in the control of hazardous material at FRC Oceana. Managed 34 Material Safety Data
Sheets as well maintaining authorized user records for 63 personnel. The hazmat program received
zero discrepancies during a semi-annual Quality Assurance audit.
