Senior Design Project
Team Project: Researched, designed and developed a supplemental air source heat pump for
Hotstart in order to improve efficiency and reduce energy costs for the university. Hot start is a
company that manufactures engine pre-heaters for diesel backup generators.
The project scope was to develop a system design and deliver a proposal to Hotstart, implement
a working prototype, perfo rm energy loss calculations, as well as calculate and track energy
savings. In this project, I collaborated in the design of t he system and developing the test plan,
and the performed failure mode and effect analysis. The project is installed and working as
designed on a backup generator for the Martin Center at Gonzaga University.

Junior Design Project
Team Project: Using Solidworks, I designed, built, and tested a working marble loader that
placed marbles into a tray in a specific pattern using pneumatic cylinders and sheet metal.
