Amateur Rose Growing 1965 – 2004
During which time I was a member of Northeastern Illinois Rose Society and the
American Rose Society. In the 1980’s into the early 90’s I held several positions on the
NIRS board of directors including President. I helped with our two largest fundraisers, the
first being our Annual Rose show, securing locations, times, food, judges, the second was
our Annual Rose sale. I occasionally helped set up meetings at local halls and restaurants
and helped secure a location for one of our ARS functions the National Convention.
Lincoln-Way East Music Booster 1999 – 2006
I had two sons’ both involved in music at the local High School. In 2003, I held
the position of Ways and Means. I ran already existing fundraisers and helped
create and implement new fundraisers. From 2003 – 2006 I was in charge of
coordinating chaperones for the Marching Band field show competitions. During
that time depending on what was needed I helped secure hotels for over night
trips including meals for the almost 200 member Marching Band.
