I started my professional carrier as an educator in the Former Soviet Union. At the State University taught various linguistic subjects which where the sphere of my interests and expertise. Later I was hired to work as an inspector of the National Board of Education, where I could utilize my knowledge and experience. I designed social and medical programs, identified audiences, implemented outreach to the community and increased public knowledge about these programs.
In the USA I started my professional carrier as a Director and Coordinator of the Geriatric Émigrés Program at Montefiore Medical Center . At the same time I studied at Wurzweiler School Social Work at Yeshiva University . On May 1999 I successfully graduated from that school. On July 6, 1999 I was hired as a psychotherapist in Geriatric Division of the Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic, at Jacobi Medical Center . I was providing individual, family and group therapy to a wide range of clients, and case management, outreach to the communities to inform people about the programs that are available at Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic. I am specializing in reminiscence therapy, CBT, IPT, Stress Management, etc.At the same time I had to cover for my colleagues in inpatient wards and psychiatric emergency room. In January,2001 I was hired as an Adjunct Professor at Mercy College . I was teaching Advanced Psychology and Social Sciences Courses at Mercy College . I worked as a psychiatric Social Worker at Hillside Eastern Queens Mental Health Center of North Shore LIJ Health System, where I worked with wide variety of patients providing individual, group, and family therapies, as well making referral to community resources. On April 6, 2009 the Hillside Eastern Queens Mental Health Clinic was closed and I was transferred as a social worker to Schneider Children Hospital, currently Cohen Children’s Medical Center of NY, Med.Surg. Unit. I am continuing working at this Hospital as a medical Social Worker since my transfer there.
