Chronology of Professional Experience
2008 – Present: Logistics Management Analyst 4: TASC Inc., Virginia Beach,
Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Virginia Beach, VA, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Coordinator for the Radar and Voyage Management Systems for every operational Submarine in the United States Navy.
Responsibilities include managing and directing the identification and development of logistics support elements for the system requirements of US Navy Submarine Radar and Voyage Management Systems. These responsbilites include developing logistics support analyses, provisioning data, maintenance planning data, configuration data, supply support parts obsolescence and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) certifications.
Other responsibilities include, interfacing with system engineers, technicians, Logistics Element Managers (LEMs) and subject matter experts to facilitate the development of Navy Training Systems Plans (NTSPs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs). Develop or facilitate in the development of the ILS elements required for submarine radar and voyage management systems to maintain operational readiness throughout their operational life cycle.
Represent the Navy Sea System Command (NAVSEA), Integrated War Systems Submarine Radars Program Manager and Logistics Manager at all logistics community events and conferences. Currently the program manager’s and the Navy’s primary point of contact for all Submarine Radar and Voyage Management Systems logistics support requirements.
2002 – 2008: Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Newport News, VA
SSN688/21 Class Planning Yard: Engineering Planner and Configuration Data Manager (CDM). Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of SSN688 Class Submarines, SSN21 Class Submarines and Submarine Training Facilities Ship Configuration Logistics Support Information System (SCLSIS) data managed in the Configuration Data Managers Database – Open Architecture (CDMD-OA) database.
Participated in Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) Rapid Improvement Events, Lean Initiatives, and as the CDM represented Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding at all CDM and logistics community events and conferences.
1999 – 2002: Senior Engineering Analyst Northrop Grumman Newport News (NGNN) On-Site CDM and Planning Yard Liaison at Naval Station Norfolk. Responsible for the accuracy of the configuration data for all Norfolk based Submarines and the Submarine Training Facility. As the CDM and Planning Yard representative, provided the Norfolk based Submarine fleet and associated commands, logistics and liaison support with the Planning yard. To ensure the accuracy of shipboard configuration data, visually validated all shipboard non-nuclear alterations and updated SCLSIS data in CDMD-OA.
1994 – 1999: Senior Engineering Analyst: Coordinated from alteration conception through shipboard installation, the design development of the Dry Deck Shelter (DDS), Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) and Advance SEAL Delivery System (ASDS) ship alterations. These alterations modified select SSN688 Class Submarines to be Mother Submarine and Host Submarine for the DDS, DSRV and ASDS respectively. Established Interface Working Groups (IWG) teams to facilitate and coordinate the design development efforts between the various engineering and design disciplines.
1982 – 1994: Engineering Analyst / Technical Writer – Senior Engineering Analyst: Worked closely with key NAVSEA representatives, Northrop Grumman design and engineering personnel to develop Ship Alteration Records (SARs), Alteration and Improvement (A&I) Items, Forces Afloat ShipAlt Packages (FASP) and ShipAlt installation work packages for alteration installation teams in accordance with NAVSEAs Extended Submarine Operating Cycle (SEOC) program.
Military Service
1972 – 1982: United States Navy: Honorable Discharge, First Class Machinist Mate (E6) (Chief Select E7), Cryogenic Technician and leading Petty Officer in charge of the Oxygen Nitrogen production plant on USS Enterprise CVN-65, Petty Officer in charge of the steam catapult shop USS NIMTZ CVN-67. Have the distinction of being the first Personal Qualification Standards (PQS) qualified O2N2 Plant Operator in the US Navy while serving on the USS HANCOCK CVA-19.
