Extensive knowledge in all areas of corrugated, including 20 years
management experience. Effective communicator, both verbal and written.
Training employees on Flexo folder gluers, Flexo rotary die cutters while
properly utilizing safety lock out tag out procedures. Helping maintain
quality and high productivity. Teaching one box set up to minimize waste,
how to adjust color, maintain ink viscosity and PH. Lean manufacturing.
Familiar in working with Amtech and Zytec and Harry Rhodes computer
systems, ordering board, reducing returned goods and waste, dealing with
vendors.
Familiarized in working with die mounter, repairing print plates and rotary
dies, mixing inks, job scheduling, inventory and design. Working closely
with maintenance on scheduling preventive maintenance to reduce machine
down time.
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
PROACTIVE PACKAGING AND DISPLAY - Plant Supervisor - 2006 to present
Responsible for all day to day operations including Supervisors, schedule,
maintenance and shipping for all MSF thru the plant. Managing 43 employees
on the most high-graphic machines in the world. Our presses exchange Anilox
rolls depending on the volume needed from 180 to 1100. Teaching in the
classroom, high-graphics up to 1100 Anilox rolls and up to 250 line
screen. I enjoy cross training and improving crews, conducting CIP
meetings for continuous improvement. Handling all hiring, writing and
presenting of all performance reviews. Working closely with design and
quality Lab to ensure that the boxes and folding cartons are to spec, doing
audits of all processes to maintain a high quality and expectations of
Proactive.
ORANGE COUNTY CONTAINER - First Shift Superintendent - 2004 to 2006
(Union)
Responsible for all day to day operations including Imterm Plant Manager
when he is out on Business. Over Supervisors and Lead Men and work force
of 75 employees on 24 machine centers, holding them accountable for our
goals (Safety, Quality, Machine efficiencies). Also, responsible for
machine routing, new item meetings to decide which Anilox rolls and
sequence of downs to be used on high-end graphics, 7-color printing plus UV
coating, printing up to 125 line screen. Have been involved in
implementing Lean Manufacturing and Visual workplace to eliminate MUDA and
help process flow through plant, organizing (Ink kitchen, tooling, board,
etc). I enjoy training Supervisors and Crews, utilizing cross-training,
watching them grow and achieve goals.
TUCSON CONTAINER CORP - Plant Manager - 2001 to 2004. Sheet Plant
Managing 53 employees including design, production, maintenance and
shipping.
Responsible for the overall success of the company including cost of goods
sold, overall budget, scheduling, board ordering, purchase orders, machine
efficiencies, quality assurance, working with sales, customer service and
design in pre-press meetings before purchasing print plates, cutting dies
and litho labels prior to production. Ran daily production meeting.
Conducted continuous improvement meetings. Conducted classroom training
with assistance of outside vendors. Handled all hiring, writing and
presenting of all performance reviews. Conducted plant tours.
Accomplishments include, but not limited to:
Acquired ISO Certification, achieved reduction of cost of goods sold to
below 80%, no lost time accidents (over 2 years running), reduced lead
time from 5 days to 1 days, while accomplishing 99% on-time delivery,
increased machine efficiencies and reduced returned goods and waste.
Improved housekeeping. Marketed litho-labeling business and brought it to
the fore-front to Tucson Container. Responsible along with the Controller
for the P&L
BAY CITIES CONTAINER CORP.- Superintendent - 1998 - 2001 Sheet Plant
(Union)
Managed 51 union employees on 17 presses in addition to 6 employees in
shipping and receiving. Have worked directly with Les Pickering in
implementation of the 5-S & O.E.E. Program and sustaining it. Have worked
closely with the receiving
department in lining up and scheduling machinery to process work orders at
the highest capacity possible utilizing time management principles and
rearranging pending jobs for the highest possible output. Responsible for
maintenance, shipping, night shift, utilization of temporary employees,
hiring, progressive discipline, performance reviews, purchasing supplies,
job quality rejection and ALL decision making. Participated in grievance
meetings.

HARBOR PACKAGING, INC. - Production Supervisor - 1995 - 1998. Sheet Plant
Managed 27 non-union employees on the following machinery: 40x90 2-Color
Hycor Rotary Die Cutter, 40x 90 4-Color Hycor Rotary Die Cutter, 50 x 102
Hooper 2-Color Letter Press, 50 x 110 Flexo Folder Gluer, 40 x 100 3-Color
Flexo Folder Gluer, 30 x 60 Flexo Folder Gluer, 85 x 160 2-Color Flexo
Jumbo Printer Slotter, Slitter, Hand Stitcher, Hand Taper, Die Mounter,
Unitizer.
Responsibilities: Utilizing all staff including temporary employees to
insure proper coverage on machinery. Checking all finished products for
quality assurance as per print card. Determine what jobs should run on
which machinery. Making sure we stay on schedule while authorizing run
times, down times, lunch times on computer. Monthly sheet inventory.
Tracking ink inventory and completion of purchase orders. Crush testing on
all machines. Pre and Post Print. Traveled, submitted bids on machinery,
after installed in the Plant, trained all three shifts of employees on
functions of machinery.
SAYCO PACKAGING - Production Supervisor/Press Operator/Flexo-Letter Press -
1979-1995. Sheet Plant
Responsibilities: Utilizing all staff including temporary employees to

which machinery. Traveled, submitted bids on machinery, after installed in
plant, trained employees on functions of machinery.
Started on Slitter and worked way up to Operator on a printing press, then
into Supervision. Press Operator on 50 x 102 Hooper 2-Color Letter Press.
Press Operator on 50 x 100 Flexo folder Gluer. Helped with Design. Sales,
Purchase Orders of Printing plates, inks. Ordered scored and stock sheets.
Assisted Customer Service. Worked as a Production Supervisor for 3 years.
